Scooter was born with a paw deformity: the ligaments/muscles on both his front feet were shortened or tightened, and this caused him to not be able to walk properly. Now imagine a stray cat with this disability trying to survive on its own on the streets. Almost impossible.

But Scooter is a fighter and, somehow, he managed to survive for several weeks until he decided it was time to ask for help in his own way. So he entered a woman’s backyard and tried to draw her attention. When the woman saw the little kitty, she took him inside and observed him.

That’s when she realized he didn’t only have the paw problem, but he also had a serious eye infection, so she took him to the vet immediately.

At the vet’s clinic, Scooter had blood work done, x-rays taken and was thoroughly examined by the medical staff. All the while, he was extremely happy to be taken care of, and he played with the staff and some toys they provided him with.

Apart from the other problems Scooter was suffering from, the vet found out that he also had a severe respiratory infection he had to be treated for in order to survive. And so it happened. The 7-week-old kitten took his medicine, started physiotherapy and little by little started recovering.

He was taken to local Here Kitty Kitty Rescue, where the staff cared for him and helped him get well as soon as possible.

Until a permanent home was found for the little hero, he was taken in by a foster family, who cared for him and helped him regain his strength and happiness. Scooter soon felt at home and started being more active and expressive towards his new family.

Eventually, once he had fully recovered, and although he had to undergo lots of physio sessions to manage to walk properly, he was permanently adopted by a couple who also had two more cats.

He rules the house and even tries to steal his brother’s food! Thank you so much to Natalie and Anthony for welcoming this special boy into your hearts!”

Scooter couldn’t be any happier in his new home. Not only does he now have lots of toys to play with and a safe and warm environment to grow up in, but the most important thing is that he has a loving family to take care of him, as well as two older siblings to play with and socialize.

This kitten is a real hero and an example of what one can do if they are determined to survive and thrive. Scooter was lucky to have entered the kind woman’s backyard, and he was also lucky to be adopted by these wonderful people. We’re wishing them a happy life together!
