Ridiculously cute koala heads over to neighbors’ for kisses and cuddles by the pool
“I’d love to hold a koala. They sleep 22 hours a day, eat eucalyptus leaves, and just hang out. I want to spend some time with that guy.” – Milo Ventimiglia
The world is full of wonderful creatures, down from the smallest up to the biggest. As humans, it’s our sole responsibility to take care of these creatures, and our mother nature as well. The reason being is simply because nature is their natural habitat.
However, having encounters with nature’s animals can be really difficult, maybe because we live in our own habitat, and so do they. Sadly, human and animal encounters don’t always go well. Just like when heartless poachers cross paths with animals.
But looking at the bright side, there are also human and animal encounters that are rare and beautiful to witness. Sometimes, an animal that usually resides in the wild wanders within human territory. It’s either they’re lost or they are just curious about what the world has – aside from the vast forest.
Here’s what you should do if you come across wildlife outside its natural habitat.
The first and best thing to do is to notify either a wildlife rehabilitation center, the humane society, animal shelter, or a veterinarian. However, there are also those times when these wild animals are just passing by and they usually mean no harm, as long as you possess no threat to them.
Though that is the case, it is always best to let the word out. It’s always for the welfare of the animal, after all.
Australia has some unique and wild animals.
One day, a family residing in Adelaide Hills in South Australia got a surprise visit from a cute koala.
It was wandering inside their backyard, and the koala slowly came down from a tree and into the fenced-in pool area.
The person holding the camera got extremely close to the animal, it’s like video footage from Animal Planet or National Geographic.
For someone who hasn’t seen a koala up close, this video will mesmerize you!
The friendly neighborhood koala wanted a quick tour around the area.
Pretty soon, the adorable creature walked toward the poolside.
It saw the immense amount of crystal clear water and wanted to take a sip, although koalas don’t really drink water that much.
FYI: Koalas are Herbivores and they don’t drink much water because they get most of their moisture from greens like Eucalyptus trees.
The koala studied the water, dipped its hand in, and observes the water’s movement. Just seconds after, the koala sticks its entire hand into the pool and begins drinking the water, little by little.
A swimming spectator decided to come close to their visitor.
With so much caution, she dipped herself in the pool and walked slowly near the drinking koala.
The very last thing that she wanted to happen was to startle their unexpected guest.
She finally cuts the distance between her and the koala. She scoops up some water from the pool and extends her hand out to the koala.
The koala slowly moves towards her hand and takes a sip of water.
The lady cups more water into her palms and invites the koala to drink more. It looks like the adorable animal knows that it’s an insult to refuse an invitation, so it quenches its thirst from the young lady’s palms.
The following scene is beyond rare.
The hospitable girl then got out of the pool and sat face-to-face with the koala.
She petted and caressed his tender face.
She even leaned her face into the koala’s, and it didn’t seem to be scared at all.
Their faces met until their noses touched and she got a koala Eskimo kiss!
Soon, the koala slowly walked away and wandered up the stairs and toward the house. The video ends before we even see what it does next. Hopefully, it went up another tree and left the yard, unharmed.
Though their encounter looks beautiful and safe, it’s still highly recommended not to interact with any wild animal. But hey, this is a rare moment between a human and an animal, and we’re glad that it’s all caught on tape.
