Aging landlord emotional as tenant shows him all the home renovations he did

Drew Scott, a home DIY expert from Lone Fox, finally gave in to his viewers’ most requested video.

To give his elderly landlord a tour of his renovated apartment.

Not all tenants are as thoughtful as Drew.

Drew genuinely cares about the place where he stays, regardless if it’s rented or owned.

And since he has a knack for making things more beautiful, particularly a home, he put his skills to use.

He took the liberty of renovating his apartment.

After all, he was given permission by the landlord to paint and renovate the place, so might as well take advantage of the given opportunity.

His landlord is Roger, 84 years old, and the elderly man has the upper level of his home rented by Drew.

Everyone was excited for Roger’s tour.

Inside the renovated apartment, just upon entering the living room, Roger immediately said “Oh my goodness!”

Before starting the tour, Drew told Roger that the apartment was absolutely beautiful even before he did the renovation.

And it’s all because of the huge windows where natural light is coming in. It makes everything brighter and refreshingly light to the eyes.

He then went ahead to explain the changes he made in the apartment.

From yellow to white.

That’s the major color change that Drew made, which makes sense if your objective is to make the entirety of the place brighter.

Now, with the huge windows and the fireplace, Drew painted them black to put a little accent since the wall is already white.

The curtains and the rods are also a combination of black and white. Not too flashy, just the traditional yet elegant vibe.

He also built a custom-made bookcase.

It looks so fabulous. It’s a good addition to the apartment because it also serves as a display cabinet since it doesn’t have books yet.

While the landlord and tenant were happily chatting, out of nowhere, Roger jokingly said, “This is gorgeous! I’m gonna have to raise the rent.”

Drew lived in the apartment for two and a half years, in fact, he didn’t sign the lease when it was presented to him.

At first glance, he didn’t like the mirrors all over the walks and the popcorn ceiling.

He told all these to the realtor, who said that the landlord agreed to remove all those he didn’t want as long as he signs the lease.

And the rest as they always say… is history.

Drew also did some tweaks.

He made over the living room, the breakfast nook in the kitchen, and the tiny weird room formerly known as the horror movie room.

The kitchen hosts the original chandelier.

And beneath it is a 1000 lbs wooden table that according to Drew was made back in 1890.

Having Drew as a tenant perhaps is a blessing to any landlord or landlady.

Roger is indeed lucky to have someone like him stay at his property because not only did he take care of the apartment but also transformed it into a beautiful livable place that anyone would fall in love with.

Sadly, Roger passed away.

He went just a few months after the video was taken.

The silver lining to this story is that he was able to see all the improvements made to his property.

Drew also did this renovation project as a gift, since he’s going to move out of the apartment and start living in his own home.
