Usually, when a tenant moves out of an apartment, they leave it nice and tidy, making it easier for their former landlord to get it ready for the next renter. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, with tales of tenants who left their landlords with a real mess on their hands. Thomas Ravaux of Aisne, France was able to exact a little bit of revenge when his previous tenants left him with a mess to clean up.

A fixer-upper

It all began in 2008 when Ravaux decided to buy and fix up a small apartment in the French city of Razoy-sur-Serre. After he was finished, he decided to rent it out and make some money. It was after some particularly rude tenants had moved out, leaving a mess in the process, that Ravaux decided to get some revenge.

Disrespect on an epic scale

The tenants had not been the best. Ravaux knew they were no good when they refused to pay rent. A nice guy, the tenants gave excuse after excuse to Ravaux, and in the end, managed to go 14 months without paying a dime. Finally, the couple and their three children moved out in the middle of the night.

Glad to be rid of the tenants, Ravaux went over to the apartment to get it ready for the next tenants. To say he was shocked by what he saw upon his arrival is an understatement. The entire property had literally been trashed. And after all of the money he had put into fixing it up. Plus, they had left huge holes in the walls.

The apartment was completely trashed

Trash was everywhere. The first clue that something was afoot was when he had trouble even opening the front door. After making his way inside, Ravaux discovered the floors covered in trash, including old food. There was even a small trash dumpster that had been brought in from outside.

Ravaux plots his revenge

Ravaux was mad and who could blame him? He was so mad that he decided to get even, but first, he had to call his lawyer. After being assured that what he wanted to do was legal, Ravaux next hired a dump truck. Determined to teach his former tenants a lesson, he had all of the trash they had left behind loaded into the dump truck.

Returning what was rightfully theirs

Then it was just a matter of taking their trash to their new residence and returning it. He had the dump truck dump their belongings in front of their new home so that they would have no choice but to deal with it, including a bunch of stuffed animals, and boxes of things he was surprised to see left behind.

And while Ravaux would have had to remove the trash anyway, at least he was able to teach some bad tenants a lesson in the process. For more of this epic lesson of the importance of cleaning up after yourself, especially when you move, check out the video below.
