12 clever life hacks from repurposing everyday objects

The whole point of a life-hack is to be convenient and efficient, and these repurposed objects are just that. You most definitely have these things around your home, so nothing is stopping you from giving these a try!

1. Using aluminum foil to divide a large pan into smaller spaces

With the heat-resistant qualities of aluminum foil, it makes a great serving wrapper for grilling and barbecuing. So what a genius thing to use it as a divider for large cooking pans!

2. Shower without ruining your make-up

Sometimes, your eye shadow, contour, and lipstick are all on point and are too beautiful to wash away. A pair of diving goggles when you shower is so out-of-the box-level genius, it’s not even funny.

3. Turn a ladder into a bookshelf

This old ladder on Etsy being reused as a hanging book shelf is equal parts cheap and efficient, but also all parts creative. “The scope of my engineering genius knows literally no bounds.”

4. Soda pull tabs can be reused as picture frame hangers

Don’t throw away those soda pull tabs! They might just come in handy for all those moments and memories you want to hang on your wall.

5. Changing the position you hang your shirts in can save space

While you might not be able to try the drifting and racing shown in Tokyo Drift, you can try one of the safer things and hang your shirts like this. Never underestimate how much repositioning things can save space!

Everything is awesome, and especially this life-hack for people with a lot of wires near their work station. A handy LEGO Minifigure’s clip-shaped hands can hold onto any wires you need it to!

7. Connect a pair of ziplock bags by flipping one inside-out

Taking advantage of the mechanism behind a ziplock, it’s a wonder why no one has thought of this before. Of course, you’ll need both bags to be the same size for this to work.

8. Picture frame stands can be laptop stands

If you’re like me and have a broken laptop hinge…

If your laptop’s hinge breaks, preventing you from either closing it or keeping it upright, then this could be a life-saving hack. Propping it up against an object can work, but you’re limited to having to carry whatever that object is with the laptop at all times. By taping a picture stand to it instead, you retain all the utility of the laptop.

9. Pizza toppers as phone stands

That little table-like plastic topper that comes with pizzas finally has another use. And the best part is that it’s such an inexpensive, commonplace item that everyone has. No need to buy expensive phone stands anymore. Just order a pizza, and a makeshift phone stand will come free with it!

10. Get ice cold water by using the water you’re drinking from

No need for ice cubes when you can turn half the bottle into one! Just freeze it on its side, and fill the unfrozen side with water. It’s so terribly clever, isn’t it?

11. Keep burgers inside old CD cases

With every kind of video media being move to streaming and download, it’ll be hard to think of what to do with your old CD cases. Not to worry! Burgers and bagels fit perfectly inside them.

A lot of car models come with factory spoilers and wings that you might not actually need. It’s not like you’ll regularly be to the track where you can go full speed and get the downforce from those things. So what else are you supposed to do with it besides use it as a makeshift table?
