Kitten near death is raised by a Husky – now she’s one of the adventure-loving pack

While we don’t know much about the humans behind Rosie and her Huskies other than that they are three sisters who rescue animals, we do know that their furry roommates are slowly building a social media empire based on cuteness and inter-species friendship.

It all began when the tiny two-week-old kitten was found abandoned on the streets of San Jose. It came in through the women’s rescue and they took her home and tried to nurse her back to health. But some hard times followed since she had been separated from her mother far too early and had a hard time taking in any nutrition.

It looked like her life would be a short one.

But in the same house where she was being cared for there was another furry resident – a husky named Lilo who had a good history with kittens. And when it looked like Rosie was at the breaking point, the dog stepped in to cuddle her like the mother she needed so badly.

According to the furry family’s website:

“By some miracle, Rosie started trying to suckle on Lilo and cried out for food! We were stunned by the effect Lilo had on Rosie and immediately gave Rosie a bottle. She drank every drop and nestled into Lilo’s fur to sleep. When she awoke again, it was as if new life was breathed into this little kitten. We suspect it was the heart and soul of a husky!”

For her part, Lilo didn’t seem to mind that the baby she was caring for was a kitten.

After months of care, Rosie was ready to join the pack – and that meant adventure!

The next thing she knew, Rosie was getting a harness and strolling around town and headed off on vacation with her two (previously three) husky pals Lilo and Infinity (and formerly, Miko).

While the sisters have a rule about not keeping the kittens they foster, Rosie’s bond with Lilo was simply too strong to think of breaking.

And people can’t get enough of the purr-fect pack. They’re about to reach half a million followers on Instagram alone!

For her part, Rosie doesn’t seem to notice that she’s any different than her packmates – they do all of the same things together, including hiking and playing in the snow.

The now-four-year-old cat is allowed to go pretty much everywhere the huskies go and can behave herself in pet stores and on car rides alike.

She even enjoys taking a swim with the dogs every now and then!

From chasing her tail to doing “dog tricks” like giving high-fives, Rosie is in full-on dog mode.

Of course, once you raise a cat like a husky you can prepare for some serious sass!

She’s a delightful little troublemaker on top of being a beautiful rescue story full of love and compassion.

Rosie and Lilo are still adventuring together years later.

And the kitten that no one thought would make it is now a cat who is happy to galavant through the forest as well as act as a surrogate mother to more rescue kittens that come through the house.
