Dorian Beshara may only be in first grade, but first responders have praised him as a hero.

Like many young children, Beshara loves to go around his grandma’s house and play with her. But one day, he noticed something odd while he was there.

As Beshara’s grandma was baking in the kitchen, the boy was staring out of the window. Across the street, the grandmother’s neighbor was in the garden. But clearly, she was in a bad way.

The neighbor, Dot Field, was lying on the ground next to her birdbath.

“I bent over, and I heard my back crack, and I thought ‘oh my!'” – Dot Field.

Field saw Beshara looking concerned in the window. She made a gesture with her hands for help.

She was worried that Beshara would ignore the plea for help, as he was possibly too young to understand the situation.

But Beshara could tell that this was abnormal. So he went out of his grandma’s house and checked on the neighbor.

He asked Field if she was all right. The neighbor said that she was in pain. So Beshara ran back inside to call his dad and uncle.

Soon, Beshara’s dad and uncle arrived. They helped Field get to her feet and seated in a chair in her home.

The adults called an ambulance.

Pretty soon, Field was taken to a hospital, where she was seen to by a professional. It turned out that Field had broken her back that morning. Luckily, she was able to make a full recovery over time.

Thanks to Beshara’s concern and quick thinking, Field was able to get the help that she needed before her situation became desperate.

Beshara’s dad was incredibly proud of his son. He would later say this:

“I think he’s a hero. I think he’s one of the most caring six-year-olds in the world. Little kids can do so much. They can do a lot more than they get credit for. I’m the proudest father ever.”

But even more people would praise Beshara for his heroic actions.

The local fire department gave the child a special commendation and award for his good deed.

The first responders also showed up to his home to personally thank him and show him the fire truck.

The firefighters even took him on a private ride around the neighborhood.

Perhaps when Beshara grows up, he’ll become a firefighter himself? It certainly won’t be surprising if he goes into public service!

The local news team would make a special report about Beshara’s actions, which was later uploaded onto YouTube. Now thousands of people around the world have heard Beshara’s story.

People have been saying this about Beshara:

Many people like to moan about how society is getting worse and young people are inconsiderate nowadays. But Beshara’s story shows that, really, the opposite is true.

If anything, people are becoming more caring at a younger age than ever before.

If six-year-olds are looking out for and saving their neighbors today, just imagine what they will achieve when they grow up? Sure, some will continue to complain and say that things are getting worse, but stories like Beshara’s prove that people have nothing to worry about.
