Ice skating is one of those skills that takes years to be really good at.

It is a challenging sport that most people can’t fathom attempting. Another thing is that if you want to be a professional ice skater it’s advisable to start from a young age.

Only a handful of people truly becomes professional skaters, mainly because it is quite hard. You have to try to balance your entire body on two little metal blades. Then, you have to twirl, flip, and dance around on the ice – all without falling.

And yet nothing is as magical as when we see skaters performing on ice.

Evelina Pokrasnetyeva and Ilya Makarov were only 9 and 11 when they entered the rink of a TV show competition. With the help of their coach, famed Ilya Izaslavovich Averbukh, the duo performed in a Russian television program called ‘Ice Age – Children’.

When it comes to ice skating, choreography is everything. As the two little skaters took their place, everyone quietly waited for their performance.

Once the familiar song “Hallelujah” started playing, everyone in the audience knew that they were in store for something special – that is until they laid down in the middle of the ice.

The audience and the judges were then surprised when the two arose from the ground and started their routine. It was a tale about a blossoming love between two young lovers as they pretend to look at the clouds. Ilya even stole a kiss from his partner Evelina.

Then the duo showed everyone their amazing skating skills.

The two gracefully danced across the rink as they swayed their arms like a swan. Their breathtaking performance keeps getting better and better as Ilya easily lifts Evelina in the air. They both repeat the same level of precision throughout their performance until they both end the performance back on the floor.

It was truly captivating.

Evelina and Ilya’s routine showed how much they were skilled in both skating techniques, dancing, and acting.

The pretend love story is beautifully told through their actions.

While the sport is difficult on its own, having to work with a partner takes a lot of work to stay in sync. These Russian kids obviously have great chemistry between them, which shines through during their performance.

Since their performance was posted online, the video has since become viral as viewers were surprised and amazed by how great their routine was.

The dance was remarkably beautiful and the two skaters definitely have a long future ahead of them. This story of boy meets girl is certainly worthy of a “Hallelujah” or two!
