Kingsmen Alumni Drum Corps Rendition of Josh Groban’s “Little Drummer Boy”

An old Christmas carol is brought to new levels by this amazing drumming group. The beginning starts off very soft but soon turns into a spectacular performance. This snare drumline was captured on YouTube and has gone viral.

The performance takes place at the Church of Southland. It is located in Anaheim, California. At the end of the show, this dynamic group of drummers wow the parishioners with their “Little Drummer Boy” performance. Viewers have been watching this video for the last decade and it never gets dull. It has received almost 6 million views.

All-Male Group

The all-male group of ten talented musicians looks like a real version of nutcrackers. What a way to put everyone into the holiday spirit. A group of singers adds to the entertaining music. They sing the lyrics relating to the birth of Christ.

Peter YI

Peter Yi leads off the drumming performance.

When he pauses, the group of men performs a short military act with their drumsticks in perfect unison. Then they all begin to play together, all so very focused. You can see the love of music in their eyes. They are so mesmerizing to watch. They have special talented skills they add to the show. They even do a “wave” a couple of times absolutely perfectly. Peter Yi ends the show as he began it.

The Audience

The crowd gives the entire stage a standing ovation to show their enjoyment and appreciation for what they just experienced.

The Little Drummer Boy

The 6-year-old on center stage is the “Little Drummer Boy” in the show. He has no problem keeping up with the big guys.

They obviously underwent a lot of practice to be able to perform this well together. They are perfectly coordinated and each of them plays an integral role in the performance. The simple fact that this YouTube video is still being viewed after 10 years says it all. The dedication and hard work all these musical performers put into this show was and still is being enjoyed worldwide.

Many people have a favorite tradition they follow during the holiday season, for some, this may be one of them.

If the show went on longer, the audience would surely not be disappointed. However, all good things must come to an end.
