You can tell if a celebrity is a good person by how they act around children. All you need to do to know that Luke Bryan has a big heart is to watch what happens when a kindergartener runs on stage during one of his shows.
Whenever you learn to love a musician, you have to wonder what they’re like as a person.
Sure, their music sounds nice, but has fame and success made them completely detached from reality?
Luke Bryan may have sold seven million albums and 27 million singles to date, but he hasn’t let this go to his head.
At heart, he’s just a loving father and husband.
But Bryan loves all children equally.
So when a five-year-old ran onto his stage during a concert in Bristow, Virginia, he didn’t make security remove her. Instead, he embraced her and asked if she wanted to sing a song with him.
The girl, Bella, was obviously over the moon at this. Luke Bryan is her favorite musician, so this was really a special moment for her.
So Bryan sat down with the girl at the front of the stage and asked his band to start playing Kill the Lights, the title track from Bryan’s fifth album.
Bryan started off the singing with the lyrics “Hop in, you and me, little back road, barely see.”
Then Bryan handed the mic over to Bella, and Bella continued with the next line. She may not have a professionally trained singing voice, but for a five-year-old, she’s highly impressive.
By the time Bella sang “Kill the lights, you can take me there tonight,” the entire crowd was in an uproar. They’d never seen a duet quite like this before!
But by now, Bryan was so amazed at Bella that he had to find out more. When Bryan discovered that Bella was only five, the entire crowd let out a gasp. How could such a confident person be so young?
Next, Bryan revealed something shocking. Bella knew the lyrics to his music better than his own five-year-old.
Then Bryan wanted to give Bella the opportunity to sing the entire song with him. The band started playing again, and the unlikely duo started singing together once more.
Whenever Bryan handed the mic over to the little girl, he was shocked at just how well she knew and performed the lyrics.
During the instrumental part of the song, Bryan encouraged Bella to start waving her hands, which she did with lots of enthusiasm. The little girl had gone from being a great singer to also being an incredible performer in just a few minutes!
At the end of the performance, the audiences gave what must have been the biggest cheer of the night.
How many five-year-olds can say that they’ve made a crowd of thousands of people go crazy with appreciation for their talent?
Bryan even went as far as to tell Bella that “I think it’s your show from here on out.”
What an amazing way to encourage young talent! Who knows, Bella may become a successful musician when she grows up. With encouragement from a world-famous musician, she must have the motivation!
If only all musicians could accommodate their young fans like this!
