3-year-old warms spirits and melts hearts with impromptu moves during choir performance
While the festive season is in full swing, church choirs worldwide unite to perform Christmas music. In 2018, a choir from San Jose, California decided to share the spotlight with their youngest members, and that’s when children had an opportunity to shine celebrating the birth of the Savior with their angelic voices. Christmas music is often purely instrumental, but a lot of Christmas carols include lyrics too.
The youngest one in the choir, a 3-year-old girl, couldn’t stand still. Her dancing feet just didn’t allow her to concentrate! Her ballet outburst may not have been that funny if it didn’t happen in the church while everyone else stood calmly.
Girls in beautiful red dresses stood on the right. The boys didn’t have to wear matching color and were positioned on the left side of the stage.
The real choir stood behind children, but the kiddos were the ones who had their 15 minutes of fame. Proud parents took out their phones, certainly wishing to record the full performance.
Everything would have gone smoothly if the song wasn’t too slow for one girl. Maybe “Jingle Bells” would have been more suitable for a 3-year-old child, but the medley was beautiful nonetheless. It is simply too much to expect a toddler to focus for such a long time.
Numerous scientific studies have proven that small children have a hard time with sensory processing and that the messages that come from their surroundings can be overwhelming sometimes. Little ones get easily distracted, and there’s more to a child’s behavior than meets the eye. Some toddlers are hyperactive, but it’s the parents’ job to monitor what catches their kid’s attention and to work on it.
As for the little girl in the video, her shiny, red dress was all that she wanted to look at.
One glance at the girl in the first row on the right, and you’ll notice how occupied she is with the dress. We’re assuming that the gown is new and she clearly likes it a lot.
Look at her tiny hands moving the dress all around. Then she does a little curtsy, then some spinning and twirling around, then a curtsy again. The girl’s got a show of her own. To be completely fair, she’s not doing things wrong.
According to the Bible, there is nothing wrong with dancing for the Lord, and the precious girlie displayed some full-blown Christmas spirit.
Adults sing beautifully.
Though the little girl stole the show, we must say that the real choir sang heavenly too. Some of their voices were quite distinctive, especially the voice of one lady who could easily sing opera.
Kids are adorable, that’s for sure – but it’s only fair to mention those skillful choir singers as well.
Let’s hope that the beat picked up later because the little girl’s happy feet clearly wanted to cut a rug!
Some YouTube users commented that the video would have been much more fun if all the children were dancing.
We think that the video is perfect just the way it is, though, because the children are all just being themselves.
The little one simply happens to be more interested in dancing than others. She even puts her hand in the air and waves as if she’s about to fly. What a cutie!
More than half a million YouTube users have viewed this video so far, and most comments praise the little girl’s lively spirit.
She dared to be different. It was both funny and inspiring.
Great job, little one. We hope you’ll have a good laugh when you watch this again someday.
