Abby grew up knowing Bailey, and at her young age of 4, she knows the responsibilities and happiness of having a beautiful cat in their home. That’s why this little girl did her best to comfort Bailey during his last moments.

She sang “You Are My Sunshine” to Bailey while caressing him one last time. Indeed, it was a very sad and tough time for this little girl and her family but she was very brave not to show it to Bailey. She remained calm while she sang Bailey’s song, one last time.

Erin Merryn, Abby’s mom was in College when she decided to adopt Bailey, a beautiful and active orange tabby cat.

She fell in love with him instantly that she broke her dorm’s rules and decided to hide him there. However, when her landlady found out, she had to find another home for him.

When things didn’t work out, Erin made a deal with her parents to try and keep Bailey for a while and guess what? She won!

Bailey had been with Erin’s family ever since. He was also there when Erin’s first born, Abby arrived in their home.

The beautiful cat instantly fell in love with the lovely Abby, and since then, they became best friends. Their family grew bigger as Erin’s second and third daughter arrived.

Abby and Hannah used to play with Bailey, and we’re not talking about running around and playing hide and seek. They used to dress him up with ribbons, princess clothes, play tea time, and even ride with him with their cute mini car.

Bailey had no problem with the girl’s games – he was very patient with them. He even takes naps with the girls and he loves them. Bailey even has his own Instagram account named bailey_no_ordinary_cat where you can follow his adventures and costumes too!

Until one day, Bailey showed signs of weakness; he was after all 14 years old. He was diagnosed with kidney problems and was getting weaker.

Erin knew that her beloved 14-year-old cat’s time was about to end. It was so heartbreaking but she and her daughter Abby knew that Bailey needs them now more than ever. To help Bailey feel a little bit better, young Abby sang to her furry best friend one last time.

Last December 2018, a few hours after Abbey sang to her best friend, Bailey peacefully passed away.

For the people who watched the touching video, tears fell, hearts ached and they all felt the sadness that the family felt. Losing a pet is never easy, especially for little girls like Abby and Hannah.

Abby’s family was surprised when they started receiving heartfelt messages, Bailey look-alike stuffed toys, and of course, lots of love.

Erin decided to publish a book with the same title as their Instagram page and it has been a hit! They have continued running their famous social media account that now has 216K followers.

Though it had been a tough journey, Bailey’s legacy continues and according to their posts, they have a new family member – a cat named Carrot.

Carrot is surprisingly is as gentle, loving, patient, and cool like Bailey. She also loves the three sisters with all her heart and she also has her own Instagram page.
