This Husky felt so lonely he escaped his yard just so he could hug his best friend

True friendship is one of the most beautiful things in life. It’s a beautiful relationship that two or more people have with each other.

Having a true friend or a best friend is like having a partner in almost everything.

Before getting married, they are the ones who will make you feel that they are there for better or for worse, and through thick and thin.

They will stick around and make you feel that you are not alone.

Though finding a true friend is already hard, maintaining the friendship is another thing.

Things can even get a lot harder, especially when two friends are a distance apart and rarely see each other due to some circumstances.

By the way, when we talk about friendship, it doesn’t only apply to humans. It also applies to animals, just like these dogs.

Meet Messy!

Messy is a sweet, yellow labrador who lives with his human companion, Oranit Kittragul. This adorable dog knows nothing but to give love, not only to his mom but also to others.

He is more than just a baby pooch to his human mom, he is also a dear friend to someone else.

On the other side of the road, there is Audi.

Audi is a majestic husky who lives just across the road where Messy and Oranit live. Unlike them, Audi lives by himself most of the time because his owner usually goes off for work. He spends most of his time alone in their yard whenever his owner leaves.

Just like any other dog, Audi also feels depression, loneliness, and anxiety during his owner’s absence.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, also known as ASPCA:

“Separation anxiety is triggered when dogs become upset because of separation from their guardians, the people they’re attached to. Escape attempts by dogs with separation anxiety are often extreme and can result in self-injury and household destruction, especially around exit points like windows and doors.”

What are the signs that a dog has it and what do they usually do?

“Some dogs suffering from separation anxiety become agitated when their guardians prepare to leave. Others seem anxious or depressed prior to their guardians’ departure or when their guardians aren’t present. Some try to prevent their guardians from leaving. Usually, right after a guardian leaves a dog with separation anxiety, the dog will begin barking and displaying other distress behaviors within a short time after being left alone—often within minutes. When the guardian returns home, the dog acts as though it’s been years since he’s seen his mom or dad!”

Thankfully, Messy is always there for Audi.

We may not know how dogs communicate or how their animal instincts work, it is evident though that Messy cares for Audi from a distance.

He probably knows that Audi is alone, that’s why he is always there to comfort his lonely friend.

“When he feels lonely and cries, I always ask my dog to see and talk to him,” Oranit told The Dodo. “My dog just looks from my fence and sometime he barks to [Audi]. I don’t know what they are communicating, but he stops crying.”

Audi finally gets to thank Messy for the friendship.

One day, Audi’s owner left home to go to work, and on his way out he, unfortunately, forgot to latch the gate to his yard.

Audi saw this as his chance to do nothing else but thank his kind friend on the other side of the road. Oranit was surprised to see Audi by their fence, but she was more surprised by what she saw.

“He ran to my dog and they hugged each other,” Oranit added.

She was also able to take some photos of the heartwarming display of friendship between the two dogs.

The beautiful moment was cut short and pretty soon, Audi was taken back home. Given that these dogs show a different kind of relationship, we hope that soon, their owners will have some sort of arrangement to let them bond more often, or even on the regular.
