Lonely ram finds home after a decade alone and melts hearts loving on family

No man is an island. Is this also the same for animals?

Every living creature belongs to a family or a group. However, it is a different story for Huxley.

Huxley was a lonely ram.

He was living at Johnson Park Animal Haven. Although he was provided with his basic needs, it was obvious that he was not happy.

He was known as the ‘depressed ram’ by the zoo visitors.

His shelter has no covering, so he has no choice but to brave the changing weather.

He has a health condition.

Huxley’s visitors threw food over his fence, which led to his improper diet and overweight condition.

He spends most of his time sitting alone on one side of his pen.

Huxley doesn’t have anyone with him, which adds to his unhappiness and unwillingness to live.

Then, his situation changed.

A frequent guest took care of him, Rian Feldman of Uncle Neil’s Home saw how Huxley was treated in the petting zoo.

It broke her heart, and she couldn’t stand the thought of leaving him, so she submitted a petition for the Huxley’s release.

It was not long after that Rian was finally able to take him home and was able to take care of his needs.

Huxley had a new home.

The County Commissioner agreed to release the three most critical animals along with Huxley for them to have a wonderful life.

Rian took the animals immediately from the zoo.

Huxley was able to experience the kind of care he had been rid of for the past ten years.

He felt loved and was taken care of affectionately for the first time after a long time of being alone.

It took a little while for Huxley to get used to having a cozy bed and being surrounded by a lot of company.

Huxley finally felt safe when he realized that his water and food were changed regularly and his bed fluffed daily.

He was living the high life.

The situation somehow changed him, and he was able to regain his hope for a better life.

He was no longer aloof.

He made new friends. Huxley learned how to interact with the other animals at the farm sanctuary.

He usually bonds with Josephine, the sheep.

Due to many years of neglect, Huxley developed arthritis, requiring regular medical attention.

Rian and the rest of Uncle Neil’s Home ensure that Huxley receives his medication and that he can easily move by providing him a ramp.

Huxley learned how to be happy.

Feldman documents and shares how Huxley was able to blossom every single day.

He would often hang out under a cherry blossom tree.

He also loves eating bananas for his snack and would allow Rian to pet him by scratching his neck.

He touched Rian’s life.

And he taught her a meaningful lesson.

Rian admits that Huxley has a unique connection with her and that he taught her how to be strong and fight for what you believe.

She vows to make him feel loved every day so he can forget all the sad things that happened in the past.
