All that while eating something delicious. It does sound tempting. We believe in the delicious part, whether someone wants to lose weight or not. Cabbage is always an excellent option for lunch because it’s a great fiber and vitamin C source.

First, wash the cabbage and cut it into small pieces

To prepare the cabbage soup, you’ll need some vegetables. Here is the list:

  • 1 head green cabbage,
  • 1 lb carrots,
  • 1 large onion,
  • 6 cloves garlic,
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes,
  • 1 can of stewed tomatoes,
  • 1 teaspoon oregano,
  • 1 teaspoon pepper,
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder,
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder,
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder,
  • 1 teaspoon salt (optional),
  • hot sauce,
  • 1 stalk of celery

As you can see, the key is in using some great seasoning as well. After you’ve washed and cut the cabbage, take a large cooking bowl. Put all the cabbage in. Wash and cut the carrots. Put them in a bowl, too. Do the same with the onion and six cloves of garlic.

Grab a whole stalk of celery, wash it, chop it up, and add to the bowl.

Yes, we only need one cooking bowl throughout the whole recipe. When you finish with the celery, take the can of diced tomatoes. Add that to the mix as well. If you can, use a 28 ounce can of tomatoes.

Then take a can of stewed tomatoes, and throw that in. Now, fill the bowl with water. Don’t use too much water. Pour it in so that it covers everything in the bowl. Once it cooks a little bit, the cabbage will render down in volume a lot. So, don’t worry if the bowl looks overloaded. It’ll be okay in the end.

Add all the seasoning.

Don’t worry about the order; just add everything from the list above. You can leave out the hot sauce if you want, but make sure to add pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and chili, and onion powder.

If you wish, leave the salt out as well. You can always add it later anyway. Stir everything and put it on the stove.

Set the cooking temperature high, but don’t boil the soup.

Here is the crucial part. Leave the high temperature on until you see the first bubbles on the water’s surface. As soon as it happens, lower the temperature. You don’t want to boil the soup because it tastes terribly after boiling.

Let the soup simmer at a medium-high temperature for about 15 minutes. Then set the medium temperature and cook it for an hour. After that, you want to cook it for an additional half an hour at a medium-low temperature. Enjoy the delicious soup.
