Is there anything cuter than a brand-new bond between two animals? We certainly don’t think so.

In 2011, a clip of a deer and a kitten was shared to Youtube. It shows a baby deer, who is apparently lost, and a kitten hanging out together. What makes the clip so insanely adorable is the kitten, who appears to be super feisty as they try to get the deer to get up and play.

The deer shows zero interest as he does not respond to anything the kitten does. The kitten on the other hand, is full of energy and wants nothing more than to play. The cat continues to look at the deer, lightly scratch his nose, and even jump on his back.

The deer just does not respond at all. Even when the kitten jumps on his back.

The good thing is that even though the deer is lost, he doesn’t seem to be afraid at all. Sometimes some animals can feel threatened by others but this was definitely not the case here. The deer just seemed uninterested, which made the curious kitten’s super hyper energy even funnier.

It almost felt like the deer was the kitten’s older sibling. Even though the deer wasn’t responding, you could see the comfort between the two. The deer was just hanging out and getting rest while he pretty much let the kitten do whatever it wanted to do.

Cats are usually known to be standoffish or cold, but this was not the case with this cat. In fact, it was the polar opposite. The cat was begging his brand-new friend to play with him. He almost seemed desperate (which made it somehow even cuter). So pure and refreshing to see this friendliness from a cat no less!

Cats definitely have their moments.

The deer was giving absolutely no signs that he wanted to play, yet the cat kept trying. For nearly 3 minutes, we see the cat just be completely lost and puzzled. “How could this cool deer not want to play with me?” The cat seems to think.

Even when the cat seems to give up, he doesn’t.

There are a few moments where the cat appears to give up. He will go and lay down but it is not long until he turns his head to look back at the deer and then, once again, pounce on him (gently, of course). This kitten wants to play so bad but the deer is just not having it.

The newborn fawn was left on someone’s front porch by her mother, so it is possible that the fawn could have been feeling a bit sad… Definitely confused, at the very least.

While it is not ideal that this baby deer is lost, we have to say it’s great that at least he was able to make a very enthusiastic new friend. This kitten definitely looks like the best friend to have when going through a tough time.
