Keeping pets safe at home is an owner’s top priority. However, given their playful nature, this task is almost an impossible mission.

That’s what exactly happened to one fur mommy in Castle Pines, Colorado.

Everyone, meet Catcher!

She is an adorable Golden Retriever who lives with Lisa Menzies and her husband.

Lisa and her husband were both out of town when the incident happened.

“We were getting some repairs done on the house,” Lisa told KFOR. “Our contractor left to go to lunch and shut the front door, and the wind blew the door open while I was gone, and Catcher escaped.”

That open door instantly became a sign for her to go out and wander outside. We can’t blame her, those paws must’ve been itching so bad that she needed to cure it by walking outside.

Thanks to their Ring doorbell camera, everything was caught in the act.

In the video, the beautiful dog walked from the front door all the way to the front lawn.

She then took a left turn and a second after, she didn’t come back. She was gone into thin air.

The thought of her roaming around in the open all by herself is sure scary. Thankfully, it didn’t take long before a Good Samaritan took notice of the wandering Catcher.

The right person at the right time.

Sounds like a line from a romantic movie, isn’t it? But this time, it happened in a real-life situation.

A FedEx delivery driver happened to be within the area and found Catcher. Just in the nick of time, he was able to save the pooch from the possible dangers outside.

In an exclusive interview with FOX31 Denver, Lisa said, “He just said, ‘I found your dog, and the address on her tag is where I’m I’m going to take her,’ and then he put her in the house with such care.”

The sweet moment was also captured by their Ring doorbell camera.

The FedEx driver arrived in front of the Menzies’ home. He got off the truck while delicately carrying Catcher in his arms like a precious package.

He dropped the “special package” and made sure the door was securely locked. That time, there was no more escape for the sneaky doggo.

To Lisa, seeing the kind gesture from the FedEx driver was like listening to the official soundtrack of the blockbuster movie ‘Titanic’.

It gave her the same feel, it was downright heartwarming, just like the movie itself.

“He was taking such care and love with her that it was really amusing,” Menzies said.

Ignoring a loose dog on the street could put them in lots of danger. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case for Catcher as she have stumbled upon a kind person.

“He interrupted his day and his package delivery schedule to pick her up and hand-carry her into our home and lock the door behind him. I don’t want to think about where else she could have ended up,” the thankful pet owner said.

After the frightful incident, Lisa vowed to make sure there were no more unplanned outdoor activities for Catcher.

She also expressed her gratitude to the kind FedEx driver (whom she wanted to meet in person) for returning their precious pooch home.

“He is certainly our family’s hero,” she added.
