5 male nurses drop sheet with hysterical song
Normally in a hospital setting, an important part of the atmosphere is the gravity and seriousness of the employees. But one parody singing group from Minnesota is completely changing that idea.
The Laryngospasms are Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and in the spare time, they sing. They sing hilarious tunes that include different health information making them all the more comical.
Laryngospasm is a medical term itself
If you do some research on the Mayo Clinic website you will find this definition:
“Laryngospasm (luh-RING-go-spaz-um) is a spasm of the vocal cords that temporarily makes it difficult to speak or breathe.”
But there isn’t anything to worry about when talking about this singing group. They make fun of different songs and blend comedy and music.
The quartet originated in 1990. All of the members were in anesthesia school at the time.
What a better way to start off than with “Breaking Up is Hard to Do” by Neil Sedaka. But their version is better, entitled: “Waking Up is Hard to Do.” It’s like those parody videos you see on YouTube, but they’re medical!
The Laryngospasms have seen different members come and go throughout the years, but the song always remains the same. The website Anesthesia Tools reports that the ensemble sings at different medical events, and even have their own albums.
But one day, the group decided to film their video for “Waking Up Is Hard To Do.”
The group dressed up in their scrubs and filmed the scenes in the operating room. It’s not the lyrics you are familiar with, but we are positive that you’ll remember the tune.
Get ready to bop your head to, “Patient’s going down, do-be-do down, down…”
Expect a grin to creep across your face as you watch!
These guys know anesthesia like the back of their hand. Surgery and health operations are dangerous and shouldn’t be taken lightly. But their creative song powers take the edge off the dangers and relax the listener. They sing lines like, “Don’t take my tube away from me … Take it out and I’ll turn blue – ’cause waking up is hard to do.”
Make sure you watch and listen because the video will not disappoint!
They smile really big for the camera, and pipe out ridiculous notes while singing lines like, “I am in such misery” and “If I wake, I’m going sue.” These guys are seriously really good at staying in character!
So are they actually talented?
The answer is an absolute yes! You would think you’re listening to a group that’s been singing professionally for ages, not a group of doctors. Even if they went with some normal lyrics, their voices are enough to get us to listen!
Recently, the video featuring “Waking Up Is Hard To Do” took off on YouTube
One of the original members, Gary Cozine, has been with the Laryngospasms for a long time. He decided to upload some of their music to YouTube and has seen a ton of great feedback. The video has been viewed millions of times! The channel also has other parody videos such as “The Ring of Fire” and “Breathe.”
Viewers commented on some amazing things just simply voicing their support. You can read those comments right here:
“OMG This is a hoot. I am a retired RN from a Trauma ICU and I just love it and OH SO TRUE You guys are the best.”
Someone else commented:
“Love it! You guys are awesome; your lyrics had me laughing and enjoying every minute. Your harmony is music to the ear and beautiful!!”
