Walking is a healthy activity, but you should be aware of the basic pedestrian safety rules, more so if you are driving.

How about the animals?

When you get in your car and go for a drive, you never know what will happen. Roads, particularly highways, are difficult for animals to cross.

Fortunately, for some places, there’s an animal crossing sign that warns motorists that they are entering an area where wild animals are present.

Deer, bears, camels, elephants, and kangaroos are just a few of the wild animals that often pass through the road.

Some species, such as bears, seem to be aware of the dangers that exist on highways.

As with human mothers, certain animal mothers take their responsibilities very seriously.

No loving parent will allow her child to play in the street! A black bear mama, as this video demonstrates, would not! As shown by this amazing video, a black bear can be a stern mother when it comes to her baby’s lives.

A roadblock was filmed in Connecticut.

What is the source of the congestion?

There are five black bears! This mama black bear had her hands full trying to get all four cubs across the road as cars lined up in both directions, fresh out of their winter den.

A driver in the city of Winsted, 25 miles northwest of Hartford, had a front-row seat to the humorous scene unfolding.

In the video, we can clearly see what is going on. A family of bears is attempting to cross the road, but the small cubs are trying to be extremely difficult for mom. They refuse to listen to their mom.

The mama bear can be seen herding her cubs across the road one by one.

Grabbing their scruffs, she drags them across the street. As they witness the exciting scene unfold in front of them, traffic comes to a complete halt!

She returns to get the other two while she takes the first two over.

One of the others, apparently, tries to follow her up! It’s like a cat-and-mouse game, and the mama bear is barely keeping up!

As she takes one over, two more return and the situation seems hopeless!

Thankfully, she possesses the perseverance of a real mother.

She yanks one from the pole it was clinging to and begins her third trip back. Her persistence took effect, and she now has all four kiddos across the street and ready to go pick and eat some fruits.

Police from nearby Winchester was sent to the scene, but motorists waited patiently for the bear to safely transport her offspring to the other side.

“First I thought 1 baby had been struck by car, came back 15 minutes later to realize mama was simply trying to get all 4 babies to cross the street, together! I can relate as a mom of 4 myself!”

Mama bears are known for their incredible abilities.

Black bears in the United States have greater eyesight and hearing than humans. Their strongest sense is smell, which is seven times more sensitive than that of a domestic dog.
