Mama moose squares off with grizzly bear after she spots him getting too close to her calf
There is literally nothing a mother wouldn’t do to protect their children from danger, even if that means putting their own life on the line.
This speaks the truth not only for human mothers but also for animal mothers.
Simply put, nobody is laying hands on a child under his or her mom’s watchful eyes.
This stand-off video proves it.
“Right outside of Many Glacier Hotel in Glacier National Park, a moose gave birth to two calves. Almost immediately a grizzly began stalking them day and night. Safely from a balcony of the hotel, I’ve been able to record different interactions between the grizzly and moose,” they wrote in the video’s description.
The video starts with the mother moose and one of her calves right at the lakefront.
Watching them close from just a couple of feet away was the grizzly who looked pretty hungry.
The apex predator was obviously on the hunt and just waiting for the right opportunity to snatch away the powerless calf.
But he’s underestimating mama moose.
The grizzly decided to step in closer, but the mama moose knew exactly what the bear was up to.
She kept her watchful eyes upon her baby like she was ready to retaliate anytime the grizzly decides to attack.
The grizzly bear tried to swipe.
He swept his paw on the ground to intimidate the mother moose.
His move backfired.
His scare tactics only worked on the calf when it got startled and ran toward its mama.
But right when the mother moose saw the aggression, she executed her own strategy to intimidate the bear by stomping her powerful hooves.
It literally worked, the hunter suddenly became the hunted when the grizzly bear ran for its life and distanced itself meters away from the mother and child.
However, the stand-off didn’t end there because the proud predator didn’t give up that easily.
It was still on the lookout for the calf to be unattended.
On the other hand, mama moose knew she won the intimidation fight so she took advantage of the momentum.
She got out of the water and so did her two babies, her eyes still on them and not going away.
Then, she charged the grizzly bear.
All of a sudden, with all of her might, she charged toward the grizzly bear as if she was ready to give it a good beating.
The bear sprinted away.
It decided not to make another attempt at turning the calf into brunch.
Mama moose took one last glare at the grizzly to make sure it was far enough from her calves.
Although moose are not an aggressive type of animal, they are still equipped with humongous antlers which they use to protect themselves from predators.
The video simply shows what a mother is willing to do just to ensure the safety of her children.
Whether they are facing a formidable and literally dangerous foe, they wouldn’t make a single step back and they’d put everything on the line in the name of motherhood.
