You may think that you’ve made your home nice for your kitties. But Greg Krueger’s cat paradise home is sure to put your efforts to shame.
From the outside, Greg Krueger’s home looks pretty typical. But inside, it’s unique.
The home is in Minnesota, and Krueger, who has autism, has dedicated 15 years of his life to turning the home into one big cat jungle gym.
Over 15 years ago, Krueger decided to begin making his home into cat heaven. He started plotting out runways for the cats.
Soon, he began building the runways and carving out the walls, creating little rooms for the cats.
Each of the cat rooms contains lighting, so the cats are fully able to enjoy the spaces.
By 2014, his home contained over 100 yards of runways. The home also had many holes in the walls, in the shape of cats, blue jays, hearts and even Charlie Brown.
Four very lucky cats get to call this kitty maze their home.
And it brings Krueger so much joy to see them running from room to room every single day.
Of course, Krueger will never finish his home.
He’ll always work out another way in which he can transform a corner of his home into something that his cats love.
“I think about it constantly. I can’t fall asleep. I’m still thinking about it, thinking about the design. I wake up, I’m thinking about it. I’m thinking about it all day at work” – Greg Krueger.
In fall 2013, after Krueger had been working on his cat paradise for 14 years, he got diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome. Finally, everything made sense to him.
Krueger sees his autism as a blessing. After all, it has allowed him to focus upon making his home even better for his cats!
“Obviously, my house would not be like this if I didn’t have Asperger’s. It takes a long time. I don’t care, because if I like what I’m doing, then I almost don’t wanna finish what I’m doing.” – Greg Krueger.
Krueger also believes that his Asperger’s Syndrome helps him understand cats better.
After all, cats are very independent-minded and like things a certain way.
A video of Krueger’s cat home then appeared online. It soon went viral.
To date, it has gained over 5.3 million views. It also has more than 52,000 likes and 4,800 comments. People have been saying things like this:
Some people may think that Krueger is wasting his life by converting his home into a cat paradise. But who are we to judge?
It’s hard to deny that he’s content. And his cats get to spend every single day running around a home that has been hand crafted to their every need and then much more!
But surely there is no other home in the world like Greg Krueger’s, right? Wrong!
Peter Cohen lives in California. And he has turned his home into another paradise for 15 rescue cats.
If you’re an American, you should be proud that possibly the two most elaborate cat homes in the world are located in the USA. Take that, countries with healthcare!
