Man shares incredible before and after pictures after being drug-free for over two years

It’s no secret that drugs can do an incredible amount of damage to one’s life and health – both mentally as well as physically. According to Our World in Data, drugs are actually responsible for over 11,8 million deaths per year on a worldwide basis, both directly and indirectly. It’s also one of the major risk factors involved when it comes to an early death, with hundreds of thousands of people dying of an overdose in the United States alone.

Cleansing your body of these toxic and harmful chemicals will truly do wonders, and it affects your mental state of mind positively as well. A lot of (former) drug addicts tend to go to rehab centers to seek professional help and monitoring, although there are also a number of people out there who are able to stay off drugs by themselves.

Travis’ transformation first came to light and actually went massively viral in a Reddit post. The post was seen on the front page of the popular website and even amassed over 96,000 upvotes, a huge amount. Hundreds of people also commented in support.

When the post went viral, Travis himself actually joined the comment section to tell a bit more about his past and current experiences.

“Hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Stayed in rehab for over a year and a half because I couldn’t trust myself.”

The most inspiring part about Travis’ story isn’t his words, but his pictures as they truly say it all. 745 days after quitting drugs, his transformation is absolutely mesmerizing.

Getting back to a healthy lifestyle requires more than just putting a stop to drug use, often you’ll also have to introduce a proper and balanced diet and so some form of exercise. It certainly couldn’t have been easy, but after more than two years, Travis finally feels alive and like himself again. He also inspired countless others to share their own addiction and rehab stories on Reddit and Twitter alike.

“Reminds me of my uncle! He was on pretty hard stuff for years after dropping out of high school. One night he saw a friend OD and the next day got treatment. Twenty years later, he is an aerospace engineer at Boeing with a beautiful family,” one person on Reddit commented.

“You’re looking amazing now, buddy! Keep up the good work!” another applauded him.

“Well done bro! Continue to be the example, you could help many others get through it too!”

His inspirational story will definitely help out many others, and the man often shares his experiences on his social media channels. Travis also streams regularly on the Twitch platform, where he talks about all kinds of things while playing video games.

In any case – the before and after images are absolutely drastic and really say more than a thousand words. It’s absolutely wonderful that Travis has been able to turn his life around, and he hopes that his story will inspire others to do the same.
