“The bed stays this way until we go to bed, and I giggle every time I pass by it,” she said. “My favorite was the very first one because it made me laugh so hard. It keeps us both in a good mood.
Woman chronicles her husband’s first attempts to make their bed
It’s just easier to do some chores yourself.
When it comes to making the bed, it’s only fair that the person who decides to invest in all of the decorative pillows be the one to take care of styling them.
But after 45 years, Joanne Sterling from Manson, Washington, has decided her husband Jim should share bed-making duties.
“Once he’d retired, I told him he had to start pulling his own weight and start helping out around the house,” Joanne told the Daily Mail.
And what’s great is that while he’s seen the bed for decades, he can’t quite figure out how to make those throw pillows look right.
We give him props for putting in the effort though, and so does his wife, who has been faithfully chronicling his adventures in pillow arrangement on Facebook over the last few weeks.
Sterling said in her first post:
“After 45 years Jim is in charge of making the bed every morning. I don’t think he knows what to do with the extra pillows.”
Not the photos have gone viral and people can’t wait to see what Jim comes up with next – we simply had no idea there were so many ways to arrange them!
Day 2’s design was a little closer to the mark:
And on Day 3, Jim was clearly sick of trying to figure out what to do with the pillows – so he buried them.
It’s not until Day 4 that we see Jim is just toying with us – and that he’s thoroughly perplexed as to why there are so many pillows on the bed during the day that don’t even get used at night.
We have to admit, this is really making us rethink our bedroom design strategy.
Why do we have so many throw pillows anyway?!
On May 13th, Jim went on strike for a day, perhaps to get his wife to think about that very question.
Jim even got us to wonder if we might switch things up a little by sleeping with our heads at the end of the bed.
And while we’re going to go with “no,” we’re enjoying this alternate arrangement.
But eventually he realizes that if Joanne is going to get props for the bed just to make it look nice, he can do the same.
For example, why not add some farm animals? That’ll certainly make it easier to count sheep!
The next day he went for something more exotic.
Hey, we all miss traveling during quarantine – this is just like being at the beach, right?
Is this not the relationship we all strive for at the end of the day?
Even Mr. Bill says yes!
We’re trying to narrow down the photos to our favorites and this “bodies in the bed” version certainly makes it into our Top 3.
Joanne is delighted by the efforts as well.
But Jim’s finale truly is the ultimate spectacle.
He managed to find even MORE pillows to add to the bed. Because who doesn’t need more useless throw pillows?!
