A man cuts in line at fast food restaurant, only to pay for the meals of 12 soldiers

Men and women who serve in the military live a difficult life. They work long hours and often have to be away from their families for months at a time. People have found all kinds of ways to thank soldiers for their service. But one man is going viral for a simple act of kindness.

A man was at Jack’s fast food restaurant diner in Holly Pond, Alabama.

He was about to get breakfast for himself and his family. They were in line behind 12 men and women in uniform. That was when the man cut to the front of the line to do a kind deed.

A witness to the scene named Levi Lawrence took a picture of the man and his son.

He posted it to Facebook with a description.

“Hopefully the people pictured won’t mind but shoutout to the gentlemen in blue with his son he saw all the uniformed military in jacks in holly pond this morning and proceeded to the front of the line and said I would like to buy all of their breakfast for them,” said the post. “He bought about 12 meals not including his own family’s. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU SIR!”

The post quickly went viral, collecting thousands of reactions and shares.

“Thank you sir, and thanks to all our soldiers, home and abroad!” read one comment. “I respect you and pray for you and your families. Thank you again!!”

Eventually, the man was identified as Jeremy Williams. While he wasn’t tagged in the post, it was spotted by people he knows. They put a name to the Good Samaritan. They said the kind deed was typical of Williams who’s a generous and thoughtful person.

People also thought the act set a great example to Williams’ son, who was there with him.

“That was a wonderful lesson that gentleman taught his son,” read one comment. “A Dad with a kind heart!”

No one’s sure why the members of the military were there since Holly Pond is nowhere near an Army base.

But ultimately, it doesn’t matter. What does matter is the gesture of kindness from a bystander who let them enjoy a good breakfast.

“Very thoughtful of you sir to honor our service men,” said one comment. “You show each of us a good way to honor our troops, all of whom are volunteers now!!!!!”

Several commenters even mentioned they were there to witness the scene as well.

Williams probably never expected his act of kindness to go viral. But now, he’s getting the thanks and recognition he deserves.

Other similar stories have gone viral about diners paying for the meals of soldiers. Sometimes, these gifts are even anonymous. It might not be a grand gesture, but it’s a simple one of appreciation. And the people who receive these gifts are grateful for them.
