Man goes back to adopt puppy he rescued and the dog couldn’t be happier
It’s always a feast for the eyes whenever there are moments of heroism and kindness amongst humans and animals.
It only goes to show that humanity and kindness are still present nowadays, even if we are living in a world where there is a “new normal.” In times like this, all we need is love and it’s actually what we need the most.
This sweet love story between a man and the puppy he saved will surely captivate your heart.
Joey Wagner is a marine from Nova Scotia, Canada and he went the extra mile when he saved a Pitbull puppy who was walking the border between life and death.
He stumbled upon the mange-infested puppy and right then and there, he knew he had a job to do; save the little pup’s life.
The American Kennel Club describes mange as:
“…a common skin disease in dogs and puppies that are strays, neglected, or abused. These dogs appear to be beyond hope—hairless, with skin covered in sores or with thickened, hard, crusty patches. Such dogs are often described as having skin that appears to have turned to stone.”
Wagner acted swiftly and took the starving puppy, crying in pain, to a veterinarian to seek immediate medical assistance. The medical team was able to save the Pittie from the brink of death, thanks to Wagner’s quick thinking.
They named the puppy ‘Mojo’ because of his luck in life.
According to YourDictionary.com:
“Mojo is defined as good luck, charm or skill that seems to come from something magical or supernatural.”
The medical team who treated Mojo didn’t want the dog to be adopted in the traditional way.
That’s why they decided to reach out to a very special person whom they thought was the best person to take the puppy in. The same person who already opened his heart for Mojo from the very start; Wagner.
After not seeing him for weeks, Wagner came back to pick-up his new puppy.
Mojo was overwhelmed with joy when he saw him again and greeted his new dad in the sweetest way possible. Mojo recognized his face and immediately jumped right on him, showering him with licks and kisses, his tail wagging non-stop like a helicopter.
It’s beyond obvious that he missed his savior and his soon-to-be dad so much!
Mojo deserves to be with Wagner, they were meant to be together.
It’s fate that made them meet the first time, and it’s also fate that made them end up in each other’s embrace once more.
Mojo is now 7 years old, still living with his dad who saved him (and his family).
He is living a happy life with his loving family, together with his dog-siblings who also live in the same house with them.
It looks like they make quite a happy family and we are delighted to see that everything is settling down accordingly for him and his human.
Who would’ve thought that their first encounter would lead them to where they are right now?
This sweet and inspiring story of Mojo and Wagner is well-worth spreading to the rest of the world.
