Maya is indeed one lucky dog because of her human dad, David Connolly.

Apart from all the snuggles, cuddles, and treats, Maya also has her own cozy cabin in their backyard. It’s all thanks to her thoughtful human who thought about the idea of giving her personal space at home.

David owns the Fencing Decking Specialists NI in the United Kingdom. He is indeed a busy man but whenever possible, he’d bring Maya along with him. However, there were inevitable times when he simply couldn’t, so he had no other choice but to leave his pooch at home.

He eventually noticed that Maya was always out in the backyard rather than inside their house. This made him think about the idea of constructing his beloved dog’s own cabin so she wouldn’t be just out in the open backyard waiting for him.

To no surprise, he was able to build a well-designed cabin that met all of Maya’s needs.

The cabin has its own fence and also with stairs to keep up with a dog’s mobility and playfulness. It’s also equipped with a roof that keeps Maya warm and cozy whenever the rain pours and there’s also a comfortable dog bed that’s perfect for her. It’s also surrounded by plants to keep the ambiance fresh and on the gate is Maya’s very own mailbox.

“It has an insulated floor, porch, night light, and a small heater as well, for the winter time,” David told The Dodo while describing the details of the cabin. “I built her cabin raised off the ground so as when she is lying inside her bedroom or on her balcony deck she can see over the top of the fence at passersby.”

Maya loves being outside and the cabin is perfect for her, especially during the rainy season. On the other hand, the cabin gives David peace of mind whenever he couldn’t be home until after sunset. The thought of Maya being in the dark never bothered him because of the night light that he installed in Maya’s backyard cabin.

Keeping Maya safe and comfy.

Building the cabin was just one of his many ways of showing how important Maya is to him. Above anything else, the most important thing to David was being able to give his dog a safe place whenever he needs to be away.

“Maya is my best friend,” David said. “She is a loyal companion and I am trying my best to make her life as enjoyable and comfortable for her as I possibly can. Building her a comfortable little home is the least I could do.”

Maya couldn’t be happier with her own cabin, but what brings her more joy is, of course, David’s presence. She wouldn’t mind not having the cabin so long as her dad is there to spend time with her.

“I believe dogs have a short time on this earth and we all must strive to take as much care and give them as much love as we can,” David added.

There are tons of other ways of showing how much you truly love your dog and giving them a portion of your time is one of the best ways to do it.
