Man moves himself into the animal shelter to help unwanted pit bull get adopted

All homeless animals deserve to have a warm and loving home where they’re taken care of and receive plenty of attention and love, but sometimes, that just doesn’t happen.

The shelter pet Queen, an absolutely adorable 3-year-old pit bull, had been residing at a local shelter for over 400 days. Nobody wanted to take her in.

That is until a kind man showed up and did something quite remarkable.

The man in question, Scott Poore from Kansas City, is extremely passionate about rescuing homeless dogs and has loved animals ever since he was little. The man has already changed the lives of many four-footers and wants to constantly inspire others to give stray animals a chance.

In fact, the man even gave up his job and is now a full-time volunteer at a dog shelter. Whenever he can help a poor dog find a loving forever home, he feels incredibly grateful and happy.

“Scott creates and promotes fundraisers to help shelters meet their needs, and he spends quality time with some of the most veteran 4-legged residents in those shelters in an effort to help them find the forever homes they deserve,” the animal rescue organization Mission Driven Scott volunteers for, writes on their website.

When Scott first heard about poor Queen who was basically living at the shelter at that point, he decided to step in and help.

Queen has always had quite a rough time at the Great Plains SPCA shelter, as she arrived in poor health. Luckily, her condition started improving, but not a single family who came into the shelter was interested in adopting her.

“When you’re a shelter pet and you’ve been in a shelter for 400 days, it says that on your kennel card. People see that and they think there has to be something wrong with the animal,” Scott told Inside Edition.

Scott then decided to do something that would gather a ton of attention: he moved into the animal shelter.

He knew that this drastic decision would be reported by the news outlets, and he hoped that Queen would finally find a forever home thanks to the publicity. The man resided at the shelter 24/7 to take care of her and the other pups in there.

“I was willing to put my life on hold. It’s not very enjoyable, but I love my roommate and she has been amazing, and she loves the company. When the staff leaves and the lights go off, you’d think everybody goes to sleep, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. There’s not a lot of sleep. I don’t want to paint a horrible picture, but it sucks.”

Only one week later, amazing news arrived. Queen was finally adopted!

“THANK YOU to Mission Driven and Scott Poore for all the help in finding Queen a forever family that is going to give her the royal treatment she deserves! Scott, we hope you don’t have to move back in anytime soon, although you’re always welcome!” the shelter posted on their Facebook page.

Thanks to this unique and somewhat crazy act by Scott, this sweet pitbull has now finally found herself a loving forever home. What an amazing and kind man!
