It’s often said that you never know what to expect on the subway, especially in a big city such as The Big Apple.

Gillian Rogers was simply catching a ride back home from work, and then she spotted a young man on the subway. When she noticed what he was doing, she couldn’t help but smile.

This man on the subway was just minding his own business and feeding an absolutely adorable and tiny kitten with a bottle.

The kitten on the stranger’s lap, wrapped in a nice little blanket, was absolutely tiny and precious. Passengers couldn’t help but notice how gentle and caring this man was for his feline friend, and it has warmed the hearts of everyone on the subway. Not too long after, the cute pictures went viral on the internet as well!

Gillian still recalls the beautiful moment perfectly.

“He was bottle-feeding her,” she said to The Dodo. “You could see the caring. My heart felt like it was going to explode to see someone with that much caring. He was so in the moment.”

Gillian was so intrigued about the whole thing, and she decided to approach the man to hear this undoubtedly special story.

The first thing she asked is where he got this adorable kitten, and that’s when the story became even more beautiful.

“We had a chat,” she added. “He told me he’d found the kitten alone between two buildings.”

This was a stray kitten that was completely helpless and alone, so this man decided to take care of her and make sure that she was comfortable, well-fed, and safe.

“The kitten was looking up at him as he fed her,” Gillian told. “It was so heartwarming. I told him, ‘Thank you.'”

Unfortunately, Gillian was close to home and her subway stop arrived.

She didn’t have the chance to ask the kind stranger for his name, but he has definitely made a lasting impression on her nonetheless. Seeing such a kind gesture and caring person can definitely brighten up your day and restore your faith in humanity.

“It was truly a special moment. When I got off the train, I felt like I was walking on air,” Gillian said. “I felt joyful — like, it renewed my faith in humanity. There are still decent people out there.”

Seeing this whole thing unfold was even more special to Gillian, as she works with animals every single day.

“I had no idea the photo was going to resonate as it has. It makes me happy,” she said. “I think we all need something to cheer us up.”

She’s the founder of Pet Rescue Squad Inc, a non-profit organization that helps pets around the entire country. They have volunteers all over and are able to help out in pretty much every state.
