Man plays piano in a hardware store and earns over 6.6M views

One bright and sunny day in Portsmouth Ohio there stood a lonely piano in a neighborhood hardware store. Yes, a hardware store. Anytime anyone sees a community piano you can’t help but tap a few keys even if you can’t play one bit. There’s something about a piano that just makes you want to play a sound.

But this piano was in for a real treat when a “crazy random guy” named Jacob Tolliver jumped on the chance to play some keys in the local hardware store.

Not only did he play some keys but he gave the whole town an entire concert playing “Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On” by the incredible Jerry Lee Lewis. Tolliver seemed to be no stranger to the piano and he sure knows how to liven up a hardware store.

He danced on those keys with so much passion I think Jerry Lee Lewis himself could hear him.

Tolliver’s identity was only known as “the crazy guy” until everyone got word of his known blues style talents. Tolliver had been sharing his talents with teachers and classmates at his local high school in Portsmouth, making his passion for music no secret.

In his hardware store debut, he was 20-years-old playing songs just like the legends.

He’s made it known that his sound is inspired by the great Dick Van Dyke, Tony Bennett, and of course Jerry Lee Lewis. With Tolliver’s epic style he had this worn piano sparked back to life while he tap-danced on every key. His raw talent hasn’t gone unnoticed either… He was even cast to play Jerry Lee Lewis in the Las Vegas show “Million Dollar Quartet“.

Tolliver has even been touring the country opening up for the infamous Jerry Lee Lewis.

These two are practically twins of blues sound and now Tolliver gets to have Jerry Lee himself as a mentor! Tolliver’s incredible hardware store performance is one the town of Portsmouth will never forget.

As Tolliver continues to bring boogie-woogie piano back to life, he’s guided by the man that inspired it all.

Even on a rickety old piano, he can play it like his life depends on it. The caption of the video even says,

“Watch this guy play the living out of this unfinished piano in a hardware store. The piano isn’t even functional!”
