Man performs to raise money for mom's rent left speechless by kind stranger outside Target

There are plenty of influencers on social media who disingenuously do good deeds just for the likes the views, and to further their own agenda of getting rich and famous.

But, it wouldn’t be fair to say that everyone out there is a bad apple – some people are actually quite Golden Delicious in how they influence the world for the better!

Take TikToker Lexy Kadey for example, who has amassed over 675K supporters on her channel.

She stands out from the crowd because she rallies her followers to fundraise for good causes, and they’re always excited to take part in all of her challenges.

That’s because the campaign dollars go directly toward helping people like this Tennessee musician named Kevin, who Lexy found busking outside of a Target shopping center.

Even though she didn’t know the young man, her eyes lit up with excitement. “Just saw this kid outside of Target and we gotta do it.”

The sign next to him said, “Need to help my mom with rent. God bless.”

In tiny red letters, Keven also wrote: “Cash App” (because we’re no longer medieval beggars and spare change is all digital now).

With nothing but good intentions in her heart, Lexy immediately set out to put a stop to his side hustle.

She marched right up to Kevin and asked him straightaway: “Hey, how close do you think you are to your mom’s rent?”

He said that his mom’s rent was $600, and he’d only raised about $175. That left $425 that was still up in the air.

“So if I gave you $1,000, that would cover it?”

In the video, you can see the moment Kevin jerks his head up in confusion as he leans in closer to ask, “Excuse me?”

The words coming out of her mouth didn’t seem to make any sense!

So, Lexy repeated the question, and then went on to explain the premise of the Venmo Challenge.

Unlike the Tide pod challenge that made us all question the downward trajectory of human intelligence, the Venmo Challenge actually makes great “cents.”

The TikToker asks her followers to Venmo her 50 cents, a dollar, or whatever small sum they can afford, and then uses those crowdfunded $$$ to leave a trail of happy tears in her wake.

Lexy seeks out servers, homeless people, and others in need so they can benefit from all the combined love and generosity.

The videos she makes are proof that the money is going where it’s supposed to.

When the musician was handed $1,000 in cash, he was left speechless.

“Can I please give you a hug?” he finally mutters. “This is not real. Thank you.”
