Video of Costco worker kicking out a man for not wearing a mask is absolutely bonkers

In a world as polarized as we live in today, people can find a way to “have a different opinion” about anything. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, people are starting to get a bit uncomfortable with some of the restrictions and there is a large group of people who have decided to fight against some of them.

Costco announced on May 4th that all employees and shoppers must wear a mask when entering the store.

On their website, Costco posted a statement that directly asks people to wear a mask. Starting off with a “Dear Costco Member”, they said:

To help protect our employees and members, effective May 4, 2020, all Costco members and guests must wear a face covering that covers the mouth and nose, at all times while at Costco. This requirement does not apply to children under the age of 2 or to individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition.

While some may object to this request, it is within the right of Costco to ask.

As with any store or private residence, you can request that people abide by your rules. One man, however, decided that we was going to let people know about an encounter he had at Costco. The event happened because he didn’t want to wear a mask.

In Arvada, Colorado, one man made a scene and posted it to social media.

Walking into a Costco without a mask, the member was walking around the store and going about his business. When approached by a worker named Tison, things took a turn for the worse.

Tim asked that the man use a mask per request of Costco policy and rules.

When asked to put on a mask to continue shopping, the man responded:

“And I’m not doing it because I woke up in a free country,” the shopper says after flipping the camera back on himself.

When the customer said this, Tison asked him to leave.

Asking for his shopping cart, Tison told the man that he was no longer welcome to shop in their warehouse.

The man was belligerent and refused to abide by company policy. The entire interaction was strange and under some strange “guise” of freedom. What the man didn’t seem to understand, however, is that your personal liberty doesn’t extend past a companies policy that you are volitional shopping at.

After taking his cart, Tison left the man. When his back was turned, he released a stream of foul language that was simply done to hurt him.

While we won’t repeat the phrasing here, feel free to watch the video of it. The funny part is that the man who was refusing to operate by company rules posted it onto Instagram himself! He thought that it would show the world how right he was.

After the man posted the video, things didn’t turn in his favor.

As a result, he posted a follow-up video trying to explain why he did what he did.

“I’ve got every f****** right to not wear a mask anywhere because this isn’t about wearing a mask — this is about control.”

His ULTIMATE line of reasoning, however, was this:

“I was one of the only people in that store not wearing a mask, which means you’re protected from me and I’m protected from you. … So if everyone else is wearing a mask, then one person should be able to fly, if anything.”

It seemed that his attempt at “flying” didn’t work out so well.
This man misunderstood civil disobedience for the encroachment of his freedom on others safety. Thankfully, Tison didn’t care much.
