Man buys rundown cinder block home for $12,000 and guts it – 2 years later, shows off final look

Through the years, many tv shows and videos of home renovations have surfaced. A lot of people became interested and at the same time inspired by the outcome of each house or room that was being flipped.

Maybe the reason why it became such a hit is because all of us have envisioned what our dream house looks like. Achieving this doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to spend a lot, as long as you have a clear goal and determination to carry it out despite some difficulties ahead.

In fact, you can even turn a tiny, old house to look brand new by yourself! So long as you have the right tools and a positive mindset, this guy will show you how to restore a $12,000 house into your dream home.

This YouTuber goes by the name of Homemade Home, and while he never reveals his name, he does let his viewers know the tricks of the trade when it comes to home renovation.

In the beginning, there wasn’t much to work with as the house is quite small with very simple and minimal design. It comes with a wooden roof and plain cinder block construction, in which the outer walls weren’t even painted.

“What I’m gonna do is just do the minimum on this house first. Again, like I said, I’m going to keep it simple,” said the man behind the project.

On the first day of renovation, we get a glimpse of how the house looks inside as he removes the floorboards one by one. Slowly, the empty, quiet space started to echo the sound of the buzzing tools as he takes one step further to his dream home.

Renovating a house isn’t an easy task even for a group of people – and yet he decided to do it by himself.

This isn’t surprising at all as this man, also known as ‘The Homestead Craftsman’, has made a name for himself by publishing two kindle books and teaching techniques to his avid viewers.

“To be honest, I’m a little bit depressed, there’s more thing wrong with the house than I realized at first but that’s happened in every house I ever worked on,” he said on the very first day of the renovation.

And with this, he completely removed everything inside and starts from scratch.

Since the project took almost 2 years to finish, he managed to compress 50 videos into 10 minutes by showing us clips of every aspect of the renovation, from demolition, floor removal, installing the plumbing, water heater, and even the electric service panels.

He also cuts, sands, and paints his own wood as we see him working hard day and night even though the weather changes. Now that’s what we call dedication!

Finally, after two years of hard work in transforming this tiny house into a warm and cozy home, we finally get to see how his efforts have finally paid off.

Of course, the house passed the inspection and was listed for rent. Finally, he can now get the fruits of his labor as he rented it out for $600 a month with a total investment of around $30,000.

We can now see a totally different house from the old one which almost seems that it was falling apart. It is refreshing to see how the renovation breathed new life into this cinderblock home.

“It is a wild difference in its exterior appearance, inside as well,” said the guy who did all the work as he headed towards the door of the new home.

Coming through the front door, we can see how it goes straight to the living room connected to the kitchen. He also managed to add a small bedroom with a bathroom and a small closet. Vinyl plank flooring was installed all over the house which gives it a clean and sophisticated feel.

“I’m extremely happy with the whole thing. I’d be more than pleased to live here myself. I’m very please with the way it turned out I just like how clean it is and I think the fact that it was one business day is how long it took to get this place right it really shows that having a nice place it attracted what I hope to be a perfect runner.”
