After kind man repairs homeowners’ heat for free they fool him into coming back

Many families rely on the power of prayer to help them get through difficult times.

One of these families is the Lemonds of Oklahoma, United States. They believe that prayer has the power to deliver them from adversity and the difficulties that life may throw at them.

So that’s exactly what they did when they couldn’t afford the repairs needed to heat their home in the dead of winter.

Not only did Stacy and Josh Lemonds begin to pray, but they also approached their church’s marriage group.

They asked them to pray for them as well.

Joshua Matthews, a Dane Electric apprentice, came to answer their prayers.

The Lemonds and Joshua had met a few weeks before when they delivered some food to his house while his wife was sick.

“He chimed in with a text, he told us, ‘Hey, do you know I’m an electrician, and I live only about ten minutes away,” Stacy told Oklahoma News.

When Joshua arrived to investigate, it was found that the electric company had to pull their meter due to a fire hazard.

Corroded wires would have to be replaced or repaired as well as inspected.

The Lemonds’ prayers were answered once more.

While Joshua worked with his Dane Electric coworkers to fix their electrical problems, their church group paid for them to stay in a hotel.

Joshua and his friends finished their work at the Lemonds’ house.

It was after several days and nights of working in the wind, rain, and even past midnight.

“He’s just an amazing friend and a servant of God, he’s really a servant,” said Stacy.

Joshua is no stranger to volunteering. He served with the 45th Infantry Division in Afghanistan for two tours.

Nonetheless, the Lemonds desired to repay him in any way they could.

As a result, they approached the local media to share their story and to inform people about Joshua’s act of service.

From there, a plan was devised.

Stacy shared that,

“It’s been humbling, but it’s also been an amazing experience to see people love – just love because they love, and just give. And thankfully, today I get to give back a little bit, and that’s just amazing to me that I can pay it forward.”

They needed to get Joshua back to the Lemonds’ house first

So Dane Electric, who didn’t charge the Lemonds a dime for their services, informed Joshua that he needed to return there for a re-inspection.

“I have something for you. Thank you so much for taking care of our electric. We appreciate you, so we have $400 to pay it forward for you,” Stacy told him tearing up.

Joshua was overwhelmed when he received a $400 Pay It 4Ward award from First Fidelity Bank.

Particularly for doing something that comes naturally to him.

“I had no idea what was going on!” Joshua said. “It’s just what anyone should do.”

Because of Joshua and Dane Electric’s goodwill, the Lemonds were able to resolve their housing issues.

Many people believe that the power of prayer was also at work.
