Dogs have a place in everyone’s heart. We can sit around all day watching cute videos of puppies doing amusing things or acting goofy and be completely fulfilled. Some of the most gut-wrenching videos we can see on social media, however, are those of dogs who are hurting or abused. We want to see them healed and with a home. When we do see a comeback story, there is nothing we can do but share it and celebrate.

Hope the husky was abandoned and left for dead. From the look of her, she wasn’t going to make it.

Hope is a husky puppy who was left on the streets of Bali, India. She was in terrible condition and didn’t look like she was going to survive another night out on the streets.

Thankfully, she met her savior.

Rico Soegiart is a man in his 20’s who took the time to stop for the hurting puppy.

Not all 27-year-olds would stop for a dog in the streets of India. Incredibly, Rico did just that. As he was walking home one day from work, the little dog caught his eye.

“I do not know what was so special about her,” says Rico. “It’s about heart and feeling. I found her when I was on the way back home from work, she was in the middle of the street.”

With her bones poking out in sharp contrast to her skin and no coat to speak of, Rico took her home. She was incredibly weak and was scared of human contact at first. Hope probably hadn’t been shown attention of love by a human in a long time.

Even going home with Rico, Hope didn’t have many days left to live.

From the condition that Hope was in, her survival didn’t look all that great. Rico wasn’t sure his new friend was going to make it. Hope, however, was ready to push through.

With her crystal blue eyes, Hope began to meet goal after goal in her recovery effort.

Hope began the process to get healthy and live a life fit for a queen!

Rico was willing to put in the work to see his new friend make it. As the days went by, Hope put on weight and began to get her beautiful coat back. After many vet visits, a lot of food, and even more love, the outlook looked positive for Hope the husky.

Now healthy, they live wonderful lives with their friends!

The story didn’t end there. Rico and Hope now are friends for life. Along with his girlfriend, Rico saved four dogs off the streets in India. Rico and Hope are now veterans when it comes to saving lives. With the help of Hope, the new dogs live together with Rico and his girlfriend, creating one big family.

Hope’s transformation left her a different dog, inside and out!

The dog that Rico found on the street was an emaciated and injured animal with bleak odds for life. Now, that same dog has a name, a gorgeous coat, and friends all around her. With those same blue eyes, Hope gives hope to other animals and warms the heart of people around the world.
