Some songs take you back to a certain moment in life. For you, that could be anything. But if you were around in the 90s, there’s probably a few songs you can’t get out of your head. When you hear them, memories flood your mind, reminding you where you were at a specific point in your life.

“Can You Feel the Love Tonight” is one of those songs for a lot of people. Maybe you used to hear it playing on the radio or perhaps you recall it from watching “The Lion King” so many times. No matter what the case may be, it’s hard to deny the popularity of this song.

Almost everyone recognizes it. But when someone takes something well-known and recreates a new version, it’s becomes something really special.

That’s just what Jonathan Antoine did

This British-born vocalist decided to take the stage and cover this famous Elton John song. When he performed, he wowed the crowd. Although the audience in the theater went wild, his voice spread far beyond those walls. Now, the video of him singing is making its rounds on the internet and people can’t get enough of the stunning performance.

From humble beginnings

From the time he was a child, Jonathan has always loved to sing. While he started taking singing lessons when he was only 11 years old, it wasn’t until he turned 17 when he gained some recognition for all his hard work. This man became famous for being on a singing-themed reality TV show similar to a lot of celebrities. For him, his big break came after appearing on “Britain’s Got Talent.”

Such a strong voice

On the show, judges weren’t too sure about Jonathan at first. He entered as part of a duo, looking super shy during his first audition. But once they heard his voice, the judges knew he was a natural star. Considering he and his partner were the runners-up in their season, you know they did an incredible job on the show.

New challenges

Although Jonathan didn’t win, he still found success from the experience. He and his partner recorded two albums together before going their separate ways to pursue solo careers. Jonathan now performs at prestigious events all around the UK. He’s even recorded two classical albums that have reached number one on the charts.

Also, he supports a variety of causes and highlights “the importance of self-worth and a general loving attitude and outlook on life.”

An awe-inspiring performance

This particular performance by Jonathan takes place at the Elgin and Wintergarden Theatre located in Toronto, Canada. A ton of musicians accompanied his vocals. It all unfolds on a stage that looks like it’s straight out of the rainforest.

Standing ovation

When listening to Jonathan sing in this video, you have to stop what you’re doing and pay attention. He knows how to command a stage. But most importantly, his voice is out-of-this-world. When he finishes, the entire crowd gives him a standing ovation. After the performance, he deserved it.
