Man steals package on porch not knowing he’s about to regret it
Everyone who’s been ordering things online has experienced one or many situations where things didn’t go as planned. We won’t tackle those problems of items not looking like in the picture. That’s a whole different category of complaints. Now we’ll talk about porch pirates.
Did you know that ValuePenguin did a study which confirmed that nearly 4 in 10 shoppers experienced package theft? It’s often stolen from the porch. Yes, you can contact the seller, ask your neighbors if they’ve seen something, file a claim, or track the package.
Tom Mabe opted for interesting revenge, though. We think that the pirate who’s been robbing him won’t be coming back any time soon. Here’s what Mr. Mabe did.
First, he installed a security camera, and then the creative idea came up
An American comedian, YouTuber, prankster, and jingle writer with almost a million YouTube subscribers, has dealt with a well-known problem for quite some time. Tom Mabe, from Louisville, Kentucky, has a habit of ordering online a lot.
That would all be fine if he received those packages. No, it’s not because of an ups error, the tracking app would notify him that the parcel was at his front door. However, most of the time it actually wasn’t. Tom had nothing else to think about it, but that there was a thief who kept stealing from him. That’s why he installed surveillance to cover the whole driveway, and he confirmed his suspicions.
After catching the pirate on camera, Mabe decided to teach him a lesson
We guess that different people would react differently if they were in Tom’s situation. Then again, it’s understandable that the man has had enough. He had to teach that criminal a lesson he will never forget. What’s the best way to do it, according to Mabe? Use a bait box. It’s not surprising that Mabe thought of such an idea, he’s a famous prankster after all. If only that thief knew what he was getting into?!
The bait box is a very unpleasant surprise
Why? Because it’s full of feces and ready to explode. Yes, you’ve read that correctly, it’s a very nasty box.
Just to be sure that everything will go smoothly, first, he tested one box, and it exploded without any problems.
It’s important to say that Tom used a small, harmless, exploding device. He didn’t want to kill the man, of course. Covering him in poop will probably be enough to keep him away for good.
Did the plan work?!
Yes, revenge was served. Tom and his friends put out the bait box and waited. After a couple of days, a motion detection feature on the camera alerted the arrival of a guest they’ve been waiting for. You can see that the car stops in front of his house, a man gets out, picks up the package, and leaves.
All the while, Tom, his wife, and a friend of theirs, are watching the robber on the screen.
The bomb was set to explode forty seconds after being picked up.
As they watch him leave their porch, Mabe and his revenge-partners eagerly wait for the bomb to explode. You can almost feel their excitement through the screen.
They are worried that the car would go out of the camera’s view. It doesn’t. Suddenly, a car stops, and the man gets out covered in poop. Tom and his wife didn’t recognize him, but they couldn’t stop laughing.
Would you show a man’s face?
Tom covered the thief’s face in the video, and a lot of people commented that he shouldn’t have done it. Either way, the video got over 14 million YouTube views, and everyone was rooting for that revenge to happen.
