Man gives beautiful 'goodbye' to dog heartfelt rendition of 'What a Wonderful World'

Deciding whether or not to get a pet is already nerve-wracking, but actually having a pet is a different story.

One of the most common home pets is the dog, also known as “man’s best friend.” These four-legged cuties are enough to melt one’s heart and their loyalty is deeper than the depths of the ocean.

Dogs are arguably the best pet to have ever existed on the planet, however, the joy of having them as a pet also comes with a huge price.

Unlike us, generally, a dog’s life expectancy could only reach up to 13 years.

A dog’s lifespan also depends on many factors such as size and breed. Lucky are those dog owners who managed to stay with their furry companions for over 15 years or so.

Now you know that having them as a companion doesn’t only mean happiness but also feeling unbearable pain once they cross the rainbow bridge.

For the most part, losing a dog is just as painful as losing a loved one. If worse comes to worst, it may also cause a dog owner to feel anxious and depressed.

It’s an inevitable truth about the story between humans and dogs.

Sadly, it’s what exactly happened to this dog owner and lover.

He is a “fingerstyle guitarist & multi-instrumentalist” who goes by ‘Acoustic Trench’ on social media.

Like many other dog owners, he also lost his furry best friend that was his buddy for more than 12 years.

“We have spent every moment together for over 12 years, doing everything together. I adopted her from a rescue shelter and the first time we met she tackled me, leaping into my arms, wagging her tail so hard and with a smiling face full of love,” he wrote on YouTube.

Acoustic Trench’s dog, Maple, passed away in June 2021 while her human dad was just right beside her, holding her paw, and comforting her the same way that he’s done it for the past years.

Caught by so much sorrow and pain, Acoustic Trench was lost for words because of what had happened to his loyal friend. But instead of dwelling on his loss, he decided to pay tribute to his departed dog.

He uploaded a video of him and Maple while he is playing a heartfelt acoustic piece of “What a Wonderful World” on his guitar.

In the 2021 video, Maple is beside him enjoying his company as always.

An acoustic guitar playing a melancholy piece, his dog watching him while resting on his lap, and a beautiful background – perfect ingredients for a tear-jerking tribute video that now has over 9.3 million views.

“Music helped to soothe and comfort her, especially when she was feeling anxious during thunderstorms and fireworks so I would play for her to help calm her down. She would lay beside me with her head in my lap and listen to the guitar until she fell asleep,” Acoustic Trench explained.

He also expressed his grief on his Instagram account by posting photos of Maple.

“I feel so very lucky to have had her In my life, I don’t know what I’m going to do without her,” he wrote.

It must’ve been so painful to lose a pet whom you considered a friend and a family. Hopefully, Acoustic Trench gets the chance to finally move on.

Run free and rest easy, Maple. You will be forever missed.
