Andrea Bocelli's son sings Queen classic and we're all swooning
Andrea Bocelli is world-renown for his skill vocally. While going through quite the gauntlet as a child, he pushed on and established himself as a household staple in regards to music. Despite being diagnosed with congenital glaucoma and going blind after a serious football-related accident, he stepped forward and now finds himself where he is today.
More than an anathema, much of his family has musical ability!

Andrea’s son, Matteo, has quite a reputation! He is incredibly talented vocally and has piano skills to match! His and his father will sometimes do collabs, making some pretty awesome music.
A household like that probably resulted in someone singing ALL the time!

It was probably pretty great to have such a talented singer able to teach you their tricks and skills. Andrea as a father basically forces you to at least try and sing.
In his own voice, Matteo released a version of the song Love of My Life, by Queen.
Freddy Mercury is nobody to shake a stick at, but something tells me Matteo doesn’t mind stepping into large shoes. The song was released on social media and is quite the listen.
The song and Matteos voice really complement each other.
The gist of the song is pretty slow and intimate. Mercury swings into the verses and chorus of the song as only he could. Keeping everything pretty sweet and controlled, there is a lightness to the entire thing, primarily due to Freddy’s own vocal style. He is a pretty “bright” singer.
Matteo compliments it and brings in his own richness.
As Matteo gets into is, the differences are noticeable and welcome. As mentions before, Mercury is a pretty bright singer, emotionally and stylistically. Matteo brings some depth and even a bit of melancholy to the song. It is a welcome change.
A rich and crystal voice.
One of the signature pieces of Matteo’s style is its clarity. As he plays the piano, the song is accented by his vocal clarity and clear timbre. He has a rich quality to his voice that shows through, especially when he switches to his falsetto a bit later in the performance.
More than a flat rehashing, he obviously feels the song.
Artists who do covers often struggle with placing themselves in the emotion of the song itself. Finding a song that allows you to sing with conviction gives the performance gumption that is only present through experiencing the emotion of the song as you sing it.
His piano skills are nothing to laugh about.
Many vocal artists only learn an instrument in order to have more dynamism in their performances, viewing the instrument simply as a medium to conquer. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem to be the case with Matteo. He is obviously talented on the keys, using them in tandem with his voice, not as something simply to sing to.
Isolation is allowing for some creativity.
While many of us are on lockdown, it is forcing people to get creative! What else are we gonna do all day? Matteo expressed himself, we all can too. We may not have golden pipes but we can all express ourselves with the downtime caused by the virus.
