Before Miranda Lambert would marry her husband, she had to be positive that he loved dogs
For anybody that knows country music singer Miranda Lambert, dogs are a huge part of her life. She loves dogs so much that she started the MuttNation Foundation to help dogs subjected to animal cruelty and neglect, as well as trying to find new homes for homeless dogs.
So, when she decided to get married, she had one condition for her husband.
Lambert is an avid dog lover
Formerly married to country star Blake Shelton, Lambert had decided that her next husband would have to like dogs. That is because Lambert, an avid dog lover, has nine of her own that live with her at home.
Lambert had a specific condition for dating her
When she met and fell in love with 28-year-old NYPD police officer Brendan McLoughlin in 2018, she was quick to tell him one of her top conditions for being a part of her life: McLoughlin had to like dogs.
“I was like, ‘Hey, if you don’t like dogs, that’s kind of a deal-breaker,’” Lambert told Fox News. “He actually loves the dogs to death.”
Fortunately, it all worked out, and the couple was married in 2019.
Lambert and McLoughlin enjoy life at home with their dogs
Lambert’s rescue dogs include JD, Bellamy, Cher, Delta Dawn, Thelma, Louise, Waylon, Jessie, and ROE, all of whom love McLoughlin as much as he loves them. His love for the couple’s dogs was made even more apparent while the married couple spent the COVID-19 quarantine with the dogs at their home.
Lambert posted photos of McLoughlin with the pair’s dogs, including a photo of McLoughlin and a few of the dogs cuddling on the couch. In the photo, McLoughlin is laughing so much because of all the dogs trying to join him on the couch, according to Lambert.
“When I first met him, I realized I looked a little bit like a crazy dog lady. Which is fine with me because that’s what I am,” Lambert said.
Lambert soon realized that McLoughlin was perfect for her. He adores her dogs as much as she does and doesn’t mind spending a lot of his time with the animals. She feels very fortunate to have found someone to share her love of dogs with.
The MuttNation Foundation
Lambert founded the MuttNation Foundation in 2009 after she adopted her first dog, Delilah. She had met Delilah while volunteering at a local shelter and wanted to take the dog with her when she started touring.
Soon, she had transitioned her love of dogs into the MuttNation Foundation in an attempt to spotlight the need for adoptions at animal rescues and shelters across the country. For more on the MuttNation Foundation, visit the organization’s Website or Facebook page.
