Mom wears bizarre costumes on dog walks during quarantine and he seems embarrassed
In these very strange times of government lockdowns and quarantines, people tend to show off their creative sides more often.
After all, there’s only so much you can do before boredom starts to kick in, but we’re pretty sure that Clare Meardon from West Cornwall in Britain definitely wouldn’t describe her dog walks as boring.
Let’s just say that she figured out a way to make every dog walk stand out, although we’re not really sure if her adorable dog Hendrix is a fan of the hilarious concept.
One thing is for sure, however; Clare has won the entire internet with her absolutely hilarious (and sometimes embarrassing) dog walking outfits!
“It started off as just a way of making my friends laugh as some were having a tough time. It was all just a silly bit of fun!” she told Bored Panda.
The 40-year-old woman is actually a dancer, so she is pretty used to wearing different outfits from time to time and probably has a closet full of cool and funky outfits at home, too.
Ever since the lockdown started at the end of March, she decided to spice up her quarantine routine with her trusty four-footer Hendrix.
“Because I run a dance school, I have a lot of costumes which I make myself,” Clare said to Caters News. “We were meant to be having a show in July, so I’d taken them all home to fix ahead of that. I was mending the Eve costume, and because it’s a stretch fabric it is actually much easier to work with while you are wearing it, so I put it on.”
One of her friends actually dared her to go out on a walk with the outfit, and that’s how this whole thing started!
“When she said that, how could I not? After I posted the first clip online, people said watching it was the highlight of their day and I realized just how much of a bad time a lot of people must be having at the moment and how everyone needed something to laugh about.”
Instead of going on dog walks with her regular clothes just like everybody else, Clare wants to make the most out of the situation and bring a smile to the faces of anyone she encounters – at a distance, of course.
And people from all over the world are invited to see her incredible outfits as well.
She just takes her husband Aidan along for the walk, who can’t help but take pictures of the hilarious sight.
“The next day, I dressed as a ballerina and walked along the pavement in my pointed shoes. The hype just built and built from there to post a new video each day!”
The costumes she wears are amazing, and sometimes Hendrix has to participate too!
However, it looks like Hendrix the dog isn’t a huge fan, at least if we can trust his message on Facebook.
Clare and Aidan’s days are always filled with surprise.
In the morning, all three of them go on a regular walk, but they come up with a costume idea and theme for the second walk later in the day. She hopes to lift the spirits of people during these very troubling times.
“Keep it light. Don’t take life too seriously. Get up and do it, you’ll feel better if you do something physical or productive as soon as you get up. Even 10 minutes of light exercise first thing will boost your mood and endorphins and make you have a better day.”
A spa outfit, unicorn, burlesque dancer, ballerina, lion tamer – no outfit is too weird for Clare and Hendrix!
If there’s one thing that Clare wants to share, it’s that “laughter is the most important medicine for everyone, now more than ever.”
“For me, mental health is as important as physical health. You can have a fantastically fit body, but if your head is full of negativity, you aren’t healthy.”
People absolutely love her eccentric outfits, and we’re all looking forward to seeing what kind of crazy outfits this couple has planned next.
