Fairytales are beautiful stories of love, magic, and hope. That is why most of us fall in love with them.

As we grow older, we learn to differentiate fairytales from real life, but sometimes, in a twist of fate, your destiny might change.

There was no prince charming here, but pure talent.

When Nicki Marie hired 18-year-old Delaney Wilson, she was so happy to see her play with her daughter. The two got along just fine and she would often see them play dolls.

Until one day, she heard Delaney sing.

Nicki couldn’t believe it! Delaney’s voice was beautiful! It was so magical that Nicki wanted the entire world to hear her.

One day, Nicki secretly recorded Delaney singing. She slowly walked into her daughter’s playroom, and then we hear an enchanting voice.

Delaney was singing “Part of Your World” from the famous movie “The Little Mermaid.”

At first, anyone who would hear the babysitter would think that it was the original singer and that it was just being played, but no. It was her real voice.

The song “Part of Your World” is not an easy song to sing, but Delaney sang it perfectly while she was playing doll.

Nicki then called Delaney and showed her the video.

“I was like; I want her to hear herself when she knows nobody’s watching. I was blown away to tears, cried the first time I heard her sing. I said Delaney; you have such an insane gift.” – Nicki Maher said to Inside Edition.

She asked her babysitter if it was okay to post it, and she agreed. In just a few days, it went viral, with 16.8M views.

In her TikTok video, Maher wrote she was trying to encourage her young babysitter to let other people hear and see her talent.

However, Delaney said that she feels discouraged when she sees herself in the videos.

Maher wanted to change that, thus the reason she secretly recorded Delaney. She wanted her to see how beautiful and talented she was.

Through this unexpected kindness, Delaney’s life changed.

She gained confidence after she saw the love and support of millions of people. Slowly, she started singing more.

Delaney started uploading her own videos.

“It’s been absolutely crazy,” Wilson added to their interview with Fox News. “I’ve gotten so many amazing, like, opportunities and just, I’ve met so many amazing people that have reached out and been so kind to me. So it’s really helped my confidence, and it makes me super happy to know that people do want to hear my voice.”

A year later, Delaney has been enjoying every opportunity to share her songs with people, and at the beginning of 2022, Delaney, with the help of Maher, auditioned for American Idol.

She sang “Opportunity” by Sia.

Delaney got “yes” from all three judges. She went backstage and hugged Maher.

Indeed, it was like a beautiful fairytale of a young girl who dreamed, and Maher, who seemed to be her fairy godmother, helped her achieve her star, her dream.
