Moment captured when shelter dog realizes he's being adopted
A rescue dog from the Carson Shelter in Gardena, California, will have you laughing and crying once you see his reaction when he realizes he was getting adopted.
Staff at the Carson Shelter recorded on video the moment that a pitbull named Benny found out he was going to his new forever home.
The pitbull was only eight months old when he first came into the Carson Animal Care Center.
Benny’s days, like other dogs in shelters, seemed bleak and boring but luck turned in his favor when a family came for a visit, saw him, and decided to adopt him.
The anonymous family wanted to give Benny a forever home. And the moment this precious pitbull walked out of his kennel to the smell of sweet freedom was caught on camera by staff members.
Benny is just the best!
The Saving Carson Shelter Dogs captioned the adorable moment with,
“This special little guy captured the hearts of everyone who stopped by his kennel. He hit the jackpot when this beautiful family chose to take him home. Thanks for all you SHARING, checkout his FREEDOM WALK filled with lots of jumps and tail wagging! Happy life sweet BENNY.”
Benny seemed a little cautious at first and that’s pretty much understandable given his situation.
But as soon as he realizes what’s going on, his tail begins to wag non-stop. In fact he is so happy, Benny starts jumping up and down!
No words can describe this dog and his realization of getting to live his days full of love and joy.
It’s a YouTube video with 7,459,028 views as of posting but that’s going to get even higher in the next few weeks.
Everybody loves a happy ending, especially for good boys like Benny!
The Facebook video has since been viewed more than 5.3 million times with over 3.7k comments and 19k shares.
And these are all people wishing Benny all the best in his new home, savoring the moment on video while thanking his new family for taking him in. Because all dogs deserve loving homes.

Dogs are sentient creatures who can feel and express emotions. Nothing is sweeter than watching moments like these when a dog in a shelter gets to walk out once again.
