Anyone who discovers that they’re expecting twins has quite a surprise. Alexzandria Wolliston experienced that feeling twice within 12 months.

In 2018, when Alexzandria Wolliston learned that she was pregnant, she was overjoyed.

She thought that she knew what to expect, as she already had a daughter, the then one-year-old Ar’Mani.

But the first of many surprises came when she went to the hospital for a scan.

She learned that she was expecting not one but two more children. Wolliston was pleasantly surprised.

In March 2019, she gave birth to two baby boys, Malakhi and Mark.

So Wolliston got used to looking after three children at once. They were all quite a handful! But the family would soon get even larger…

Shortly after Malakhi and Mark were born, Wolliston became pregnant once more.

She looked forward to welcoming her fourth child into the world. But then she heard something familiar from the doctors.

Wolliston went into the hospital for another pregnancy scan, and once again, she learned that there were two heartbeats in her womb. Twice within the same year, Wolliston was pregnant with twins!

“The doctor was like ‘You have two in there,’ and I’m like ‘what!?’ And I’m like ‘Oh my God.’ And I looked at my child’s father, and we both had these big eyes, and we were like ‘Wow, like again!?'” – Alexzandria Wolliston.

The doctors were amazed. They told her that the odds of being pregnant with twins twice within one year were slimmer than winning the lottery.

In fact, it’s so rare that the exact odds of it happening are unknown.

Wolliston had never known anyone else in her family to have twins before. So she got researching. That was when she learned the sad truth of her grandmothers.

She discovered that both her mother’s mother and her father’s mother had at some point become pregnant with twins. Although tragically in their cases, all of the babies were lost during pregnancy.

Wolliston believes that the two sets of twins were a gift from her own grandmothers from Heaven.

The granddaughter was finally going to have a chance to raise the children that her grandmothers couldn’t.

Luckily, Wolliston’s third pregnancy, her second pregnancy with twins, went smoothly.

In late December 2019, she went into labor. And shortly later, she welcomed Kaylen and Kayleb, another pair of boys, into the world.

She had just about managed to give birth to two twins within the same calendar year. It was such a shock to everyone.

But Wolliston was happy to suddenly have such a large family. She herself had come from a big family. So she knew what raising the five kids would look like.

In fact, Wolliston’s biggest fear had been whether her body could cope with carrying and giving birth to four children in the span of one year. But with the births all having gone smoothly, she knew that she could now focus on being an incredible mother.

And Alexzandria has had plenty of support from her own mother.

The grandmother lives with her daughter and grandkids, and does all that she can to keep on top of the five children.

However, Wolliston is sure about one thing: five kids are enough! She doesn’t plan on bringing any more kids into the world any time soon!
