Chava and Chata are two adorable kittens who live in Japan with their adoring human parents. Their Instagram page quickly racked up more than 100 thousand followers over the past two years.

Chata is almost a year old, but for some reason hasn’t figured out how to sleep like a regular cat!

Most cats will sleep anywhere – curled up under a table, in a closet, and we all know how much they love a simple cardboard box or a suitcase. But the key to all those locations – is that the cat is curled up.

Even a baseball hat will do for some crazy kittens!

Instead, he sleeps on his back, like a human.

That’s right – this little fur-ball chooses not to sleep in a cozy cat position, but rather, with his tummy exposed and arms at his sides.

Cats usually love to nap in the sun, and they curl up to keep themselves warm.

Who doesn’t love a warm snuggly sleeping space?

But I guess Chata has enough natural warmth in the house that he doesn’t feel like he has to keep himself warm like other cats.

Chata, the white and orange calico munchkin has become famous around the world for his hilarious sleeping position.

But hey, whatever makes you comfortable right?

As if Chata’s sleeping position wasn’t enough, he’s also a munchkin cat, otherwise known as a sausage cat.

They’re known for their short little legs, similar to a sausage dog, which has happened over time due to a natural genetic mutation.

Munchkin cats like Chata are generally a healthy breed, despite the difficulty they have when jumping to high surfaces! Which, let’s be honest, is also pretty cute.

His adoring human even puts a little blanket on to tuck him in sometimes.

It’s true what they say, that cats can sleep anywhere.

Especially if there’s a ray of sunlight or a tight cozy space, a cat will decide it’s a perfect nap spot.

Chata lives with his older sister Chava, who is definitely the more “normal” of the two cats. She has regular length arms and sleeps curled up in a ball.

But Chata doesn’t take any notes.

He does his own thing, sprawling out on his back whenever he gets a little sleepy.

Cats are the backbone of the internet, and it’s no surprise that Chata’s sleeping position has gone viral, and stolen hearts all around the world.

I wonder if he looks at his big sister and thinks she’s the weird one for sleeping curled up! Or maybe he just thinks he’s a very furry human.

Either way, they look too adorable when they take their cat naps together. Their humans have even made them a little cat-sized yurt to sleep in.

These two are really living the good life!
