Andrea, Celine, Lady Gaga, and John Legend team up for tear-inducing rendition of 'The Prayer'
The only good thing to come out of the Coronavirus pandemic is how it has brought us all together.
This isnât something that has affected a minority race or religion, or a distant, forgettable country.
It affects us all. Moms, dads, grandparents, teachers, doctors, politicians, millionaires â even celebrities.
It would be easy for the rich and famous members of society to retreat into their mansions and wait until this is over. But weâve already seen some incredible support from celebrities around the world.
Pop-rock singer Pink donated a staggering $1 million towards COVID-19 relief efforts after recovering from the illness herself. R&B singer Rihanna has donated $5 million to various charities in aid of fighting the pandemic. âThe Tonight Showâ host Jimmy Fallon has donated towards Feeding America to help children in need.
Right now I'm thinking about what we can do to help our most vulnerable populations – children who are losing the one meal they may rely on per day, our friends and family who are facing job issues, the elderly, and low-income families. pic.twitter.com/OnimRUZKnK

We have also seen artists join together to produce music to raise awareness and help raise funds for fighting the pandemic.
One of the most memorable performances so far took place on April 18, 2020, when Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Lady Gaga, John Legend, and Lang Lang joined together to sing âThe Prayerâ.
This isnât a new song, as most listeners will already know. Written by David Foster and friends, the timeless hit is an original from Andrea and Celine. But the lyrics are certainly relatable to our current times.
Andrea and Celine are no strangers to singing the song together, but the addition of two more musical superstars boosted this performance to a whole new level.
The pair were joined by Lady Gaga, a pop legend known for her hits âBad Romanceâ, âPaparazziâ, and âJust Danceâ, as well as singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and philanthropist John Legend.
The song wouldnât have sounded half as incredible without the backing music from Lang Lang, a famous Chinese pianist, who is known for his charity performances and contributions towards worldwide musical education.
Many of us will be able to relate to the lyrics of âThe Prayerâ. It can be applied to our lives as we nervously wait for the pandemic to pass:
âIn times when we donât know
Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where weâll be safe.â
Weâre used to seeing these artists dressed to-the-nines performing on stages to thousands, but thereâs something very humbling about watching them belt out the lyrics from their own homes. What makes the group performance even more touching is that it hasnât been done for money or fame â itâs simply to help those in need during this difficult time.
Everything about the performance is breathtaking. Itâs enough to bring a tear to the eye.
The video of the performance was posted to Global Citizen, which, as described on their YouTube channel, is:
