Musicians dazzle viewers with incredible singing and whistling cover of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy”

Josh Turner took a turn towards the country music vibe and teamed up with fellow YouTuber Allison Young to cover Patsy Cline’s hit song “Crazy.”

Turner has been posting videos on YouTube for over a decade, and he doesn’t shy away from traveling all over the world to collaborate with talented musicians. That’s how he met Allison. Josh went to Nashville, told her that he’s been admiring her voice for quite some time, and suggested a duet.

And we are so glad that he did because the outcome is pure beauty, taking us back to an era that ended over half a century ago.

Josh Turner has also been uploading music under the name Joshua Lee Turner, and it’s amazing how his guitar took him “all over the world.”

Because he mainly plays an acoustic guitar, Josh is constantly in search of musicians to sing along with, and his collaborations have provided very great content for his YouTube channel.

Over half a million YouTube subscribers have had the honors of hearing him play with famous and yet-to-be famous artists, including bands like The Other Favorites and Kingdom Jasmine. Josh is based in Brooklyn, NY, but he clearly loves to travel. As far as his music goes, Josh plays everything from rock, folk, and jazz to R&B, pop, indie, and bluegrass – and that’s just naming a few!

Her version of “Mr. Blue Sky” with Postmodern Jukebox was viewed more than 3 million times.

Patsy Cline was already a country music star when Willie Nelson offered her the song “Crazy,” which ended up topping the charts as the No. 2 country hit in 1962.

Willie Nelson often wrote songs that he himself would never record. Eventually, however, he recorded “Crazy” on his 1962 debut album “…And Then I Wrote.”

Did you know that Patsy Cline was in a horrible car accident two months before she recorded “Crazy”?

Cline was thrown through a windshield of a car and she suffered broken ribs. Because of the injury, she couldn’t hit the high notes of the song during her first recording session. As a result, studio musicians initially decided to record their parts without Patsy.

Two weeks later, Patsy returned to the studio on crutches and sang her vocals perfectly.

“Crazy” is so good it would probably sound great no matter who performed it – but Allison and Josh’s talents took it to another level, proving with their captivating rendition that the song seems to fit many genres.

Raw vocals, no auto-tune, one instrument, one microphone, and a simple setting

Both visibly excited to perform together, Allison and Josh are sitting on a sofa. He’s playing something on his guitar, adjusting the strings, and warming up. Meanwhile, Allison’s hands are crossed right under her chin, and her wide smile reveals that she can’t wait to get started.

The whistling, in the beginning, is a creative addition to the simple, acoustic sound

Because he opted for one instrument only, Josh got very creative on the spot. First, his whistling made an awesome intro, and then Allison’s voice blew us off.

Allison’s got an incredibly deep, lovely, and yet soft voice. She owned the song, but we also can’t forget just how great Josh sounded on the guitar. The fact that he moved the capodaster in the middle of the song, without missing a single beat, is completely phenomenal.

In the beginning, Allison is the only one who sings, but Josh soon joins her

Amazingly, both are outstanding performers. Josh is excellent at playing guitar, but he proved to be an equally good singer. These two didn’t use sequencing or samples, they simply sat down and recorded a fantastic cover.
