For most households, these fur babies are treated as a crucial part of their families.
This is why their well-being and their safety are very important to us.
So, what happens when they’re lost?
For a dog parent, being separated from their fur baby is the hardest, especially when you don’t know where they are.
This is true for the National Guard who lost her dog.
Luckily, the dog was found and reunited with her.
It was a long month.
Sgt. Jillian Sandefur lost her dog.
It happened in West Virginia on June 12th after Sandefur was in a car accident.
Her Dog Murphy was so dear to her and she couldn’t stand the thought of losing him.
Unfortunately, after the crash Sgt. Sandefur needed to go back to work.
This left her no chance but to leave without Murphy.
However, the search didn’t just stop.
Although she went back to work, the efforts in finding her dear fur baby did not end.
Locals helped find traces of Murphy in the hope that they would be able to reunite the loved fur baby with Sgt. Sandefur again.
Their efforts did not go to waste as they successfully found Murphy a month and 2 days after the heartbreaking accident.
It turned out Murphy was in good hands.
A woman named Becky Randolph and her partner, Tera Gardner, had been taking care of Murphy.
When they learned his mom and a whole community were searching for him, they traveled to hand Murphy over to be reunited with Sgt. Sandefur.
This act of kindness from Becky and Tera was so heartwarming but they insisted that their act of kindness demands no reward.
Sgt. Sandefur was beyond grateful.
