There are just some things in life that we truly can’t deny – and puppy eyes from your loved four-footer are a perfect example of that. We can see these whenever our pups want to have something very dearly, or when they know they’re in the wrong and are asking for forgiveness. In this case, it was the latter and this guilty dog begs for his owner’s forgiveness in the sweetest way possible.

The expression on the pooch’s face truly says it all and could melt pretty much every heart, and luckily for us, the owner captured it all on camera for us to watch.

Meet four-footer Ettore and his owner Antonio Frederica Granai from Italy. Even though the footage is completely in Italian, Rumble has provided some loose translations of what they’re saying so that we can understand what’s going on.

According to the translation, Antonio is verbally punishing and scolding Ettore because he had done something wrong. We’re not really sure what exactly happened and why this four-footer needed to be punished, but you can see by the guilty expression on his face that the dog knows he’s in the wrong.

While the man is still scolding at Ettore, he then plants his head on his owner’s chest, asking for forgiveness.

“Are you asking me to forgive you? I don’t understand,” Antonio said to him.

But if it wasn’t already clear that this was an attempt to ask for forgiveness, it definitely becomes clearer when Ettore tries to get on his owner’s chest. All he wants to do is make eye contact and snuggle him as if he’s trying to say “sorry” while giving him warm hugs. It’s clear that the dog is sad and wants to set things right.

Antonio definitely isn’t an easy owner to convince, as he’s trying to let the dog understand that what he’s done simply can’t happen again.

“You are wrong, Ettore. Ettore you are wrong,” he says gently.

“Do you understand where you made the mistake? Do you understand?”

Luckily, the owner then loosens up a bit and loses his strictness, as he eventually does forgive his loyal four-footer and the two give each other a warm, big and tight hug.

After all, Ettore is simply Antonio’s best friend, no matter what. There’s nothing that could break the love between this owner and his loyal pooch!

Seeing the sad dog asking for forgiveness in a sweet way has won over the hearts of the internet, and most viewers can’t help but feel bad for the guilty pup.

According to Cesar Millan, a famous dog behaviorist, these expressions of guilt that are often seen should be seen as forms of submissiveness.

“I don’t know what you’re saying, but you’re mad about something,” Millan says as he’s mimicking a dog’s mind. “I’m just going to look meek and let you know that you’re in charge.”
