Military mom can’t hold back her tears when her son comes home to visit carrying a baby

Not everyone who goes off to join the U.S. Navy is deployed as a soldier – though everyone gets combat training.

The Navy Seabees, for example, are the U.S. Naval Construction Force. (The Seabee nickname comes from the first letters “C” and “B” of Construction Battalion.

But they get deployed just the same and are away from their families for extended periods of time.

When one Seabee returned home in 2017, he decided to make his reunion with his mother and father extra special.

His parents appear to be divorced, so there are two videos of his big surprise.

From the little we know about the video, the Seabee might not have been entirely forthcoming about having a new baby on the way with both of his parents.

He had been stationed out in California but was returning to his home in Missouri for a visit.

In the first video, we see him taking a baby girl out of her car seat while he explains what’s about to happen.

They’re off to visit grandma, who does appear to know there’s a baby but has never seen her.

“So, my mom’s never met her granddaughter yet. She doesn’t know we’re in Missouri, so we’re out her to surprise her. Let’s see how it goes,” the Seabee says.

It’s pretty clear the little girl’s mama is holding the phone to record the moment as they all head up to the door and are told to come in.

The minute the new grandma gets sight of them she breaks down with joy.

Her first order is a big, teary hug for what appears to be her older granddaughter.

Good move, grandma!

“Oh my gosh,” she squeals at getting to hold the infant for the first time.

The little girl seems to be suckling herself to sleep on a pacifier as grandma covers her face and lets out a few more sobs.

Grandma strokes the infant’s face and looks up proudly at her son in what turns out to be a very sweet and emotional moment for everyone.

As the mother and son hug, the rest of the moment belongs to them as the video ends.

But the same day, the parents posted a video introducing the baby to the Seabee’s father as well.

This one is a little grainier since it’s darker in the room, but that’s doesn’t mean we miss the moment.

But it looks like the surprise might get spoiled if the baby keeps fussing!

The parents try to calm her down so that grandpa doesn’t get a hint of what’s going on when they walk into the room.

Alas, the fussing didn’t give them away. In fact, it sounds like mom says something along the lines of “they thought I was pregnant.” When dad’s partner says “we had no clue,” it’s unclear if they’re talking about the pregnancy or the birth.

They walk in to greet a very shocked couple and the look on the grandfather’s face is just priceless.

He looks down at his granddaughter with immediate love and pride and it’s like you can see him fall in love with her immediately.

The smile he gives the camera is full of tears and joy.

It looks like this couple pulled off exactly what they planned to do. And since it happened in 2017, nearly 1 million people have watched them do it.
