We’ve all had experiences with bad neighbors.

But his story goes beyond what many of us would expect to encounter.

Unfortunately, our pets can cause conflicts with our neighbors.

Generally, however, this only happens when they’re running into other people’s yards or causing excessive noise. In this one particular case, however, a rather entitled woman asked her neighbor to keep his dogs off of his own lawn so that her kids could play on his property instead.

A dermatologist who goes by the name FaultFabulous on Reddit posted about his situation.

The man had just moved into the neighborhood.

In fact, having a yard his dogs could play in was one of the factors involved in his choice.

“I searched for quite a while before I found a house that I liked (had a big lawn) and ended up buying it. It’s in a very tiny neighborhood in my city and quite a calm one which is always great,” the doctor explained in a post on Reddit.

“I’ve moved to this house about a week ago and haven’t had any real troubles at all. Everyone seemed friendly enough.”

One day, however, he got a surprising visit from his neighbor.

The entitled-feeling neighbor decided to pay him a visit. The woman informed him that she is a member of the local neighborhood association.

“I’m not and I have no plans of ever joining them [the neighborhood association], but they don’t harm me, so it’s fine,” the doctor said.

“I went to answer the door and see what did she need. She was pretty nice at first, welcoming me to the neighborhood and all that.”

The woman then told him he needed to keep his dogs indoors.

Apparently, kids in the area like to play on the lawn and the dogs scare them.

Keep in mind that his dogs are fenced in and cannot get off his property.

“The kids like to play on the houses’ lawns and they are afraid of your dogs. So, you need to put them inside when you’re not at home,” she told him.

The woman wanted the man to keep his dogs inside so that her kids could play on his fenced-in property.

The doctor couldn’t quite get his head around the request.

“For a moment I didn’t quite believe what I heard and asked her to repeat, and she indulged me like this was a common occurrence.”

“I just told her flat out, ‘No, the lawn is for the dogs. Your kids have no business going to my property, nor do you have any ground to make that demand,’” the doctor explained.

The woman then threatened to make some calls and complaints.

She said she’d call the association and several other important people about his audacity to stand up for himself.

“I just told her flat out that she could call the Pope for all I cared. It was my property and my say in it stays,” the doctor said he told her.

Unfortunately, the man said the woman then spread rumors about him in the community and now he gets a lot of unwelcome looks and glares from his neighbors.

“People who would smile at me or say ‘good morning’ no longer even look at my face,” he explained.
